Entry 1:
My name is Christina. The thing is, I have leukemia. I am going through my third round of chemotherapy, blah blah blah. I don't want to get into details. Yesterday, I told my parents that there were a few things I wanted to do before I die.
My mom got upset...
"You aren't going to die, Christina! Don't be ridiculous! The rounds of chemotherapy have helped you! Don't be so harsh on yourself!" And of course, she burst out in tears afterwards. My cancer has been rough on my whole family. My mom had to quit her job to maintain everything. We are financially stable, but my mom is just really insecure. To get back to the bucket list subject, I came up with the idea while I was sitting in my hospital bed a week after the chemotherapy. I tried to brush my hair that day, over four weeks ago. It just all came out. That's when I decided it was time to make a bucket list. I'm pretty cool about my cancer. I mean, I'm not happy that I have it, in fact, I hate my cancer. But I decided to be strong. I don't want to turn into some emo puss. After mom's breakdown, she went to the hospital gift shop to buy me a journal to record my list in. Let's get to my list:
1. I want to save an abused puppy.
2. I want a younger sister.
3. I want to travel to New York City or the Big Apple.
I'm really tired. I promise to write more later.
