Prolog
This is the new age, the new earth. We through away our memories so our brains don't get clogged up with unnecessary images, so we can work and function properly. The law says we, but the LAW keeps their memories. Thimble Gray wants her memories, she wants to remember. she finds a way to save her memories, keep them safe if she ever wants to look back. But when she meets the LAWS son she finds that he too is saving his memories.

Chapter one
You know what I think is funny? Snowflakes. Each one is so different, so beautiful, but they're too small for any one to see. All you do see is a white glob of frozen rain hitting the ground, and amassing into one giant blanket that covers mother nature herself. It snowed today, that's what got me thinking of snow in the first place. I saw it swell and blow outside my window this morning and when I walked to school I felt the cold wet stuff on my face. I always wonder what it really feels like, I mean how it feels with out the cold, and without it melting.

Last night in my dream, I dreamed that I was snow, but that doesn't make sense, how can anyone be snow. I felt as if my body was genitally falling to the ground to cover it from the harsh frosty air. When I woke up the next day i didn't want to remove it. Remove my memory of snow, but you know the law, anything we don't need must be removed. I did do that, but instead of tossing that memory I saved it, I found out you can save memories, on a file so to speak.

Chapter two
When I went to school today, I had saved my memory from the day before. When I got to school, I felt like I had already learned our lesson. I had finished way before everyone and put my head on my desk. My teacher, Ms. Bangle clicked her heels together and cleared her throat. "Thimble Gray what on earth are you doing you have work to do!" She said rolling her R's and hissing her S's. When I heard her voice my spine snapped up straight. "Uhh, I finished." I stammered. I pushed my paper in front of her to show her I'm not lying. Ms. Bangle snatched my paper up and scanned it with her hawk like eyes. She slammed my paper down with discussed, she did not find one thing wrong. She clicked away in her black heels muttering something to herself.

At lunch my friends Cria and Tonic slammed their food trays next to me. "I can't stand it! I can not!" Cria said, she was always going off about something. Name one thing, and she'll find the worst in it. "She's been going on about this forever, work your magic Thimble." Tonic said waving his fork in the air and then pointing it at me. "Ok, so what the problem?" I asked locking eyes with Cria. She pushed her tray away from her and took a giant swig of milk. She cleared her throat and began her little story. "It's my mother! When I left the house this morning she said that when I got home I would have a list of things to do!" Cria practically screaming. I could almost see smoke coming out of her ears. "And why is that?" I asked. " Like every other time she's mad at me, I'm bad at work, and that means I'm going to have a bad life." She huffed, crossing her arms. When ever she did that it was a sign that she was done talking. "I'm going to tell you what I always tell you, just try harder at work."

Chapter Three
That one day of the week we get off is wonderful. Cria, Tonic and I all went to the movies. Which seems stupid for them because they wont remember any of it. Using up our one free day for anything but studding is wrong in the eyes of my parents. But every once in awhile they let me have fun.

Cria let out a long, loud, and angry sigh."I am not waiting in this line!" She protested. Tonic crossed her arms and shook his head. "So you want to go home to your mother and do school work?" He asked giving her a look. Cria opened her mouth to say something, but shut it again. Puttng her hands on her hips and popped out her jaw. "Thinking." I said under my breath, that was Cria's thinking look.

"I can not believe we are doing this!" I whispered to Cria. Not only were we being unfair, but we could get in big trouble. "I can, I mean look who came up with the idea!" Tonic said giving Cria a small shove. Cria gave a evil smile.
