Dear RJ (Rocky's Journal)

Thanks to Xela XIII is needed here. She inspired me with 'Dear Stupid Diary' to write this, and I'm grateful for all of her work. Anyway, here's my own journal!

Yeah. I know it sounds wierd , but I can hardly call you anything else. My sister gave me a notepad for my birthday with 'Rocky's Journal' emblazoned on the front. I thought it was a joke at first, but then I realised she was serious. Don't think I'm going to write in you about everything I do/think/feel every minute of every day, because it won't happen.

I'm Rocky and I'm an archer. Yes I'm a girl, so don't think that only boys can do tough stuff. People say I have a natural talent for archery, but I just really enjoy it

My Dad is a wizard. Only in limited area's though, as he didn't pass all his tests. My older brother Woody and sister Summer aren't too bad. They don't pick on me all the time, so I guess I should be grateful for that. Woody's an artist. He loves to paint, draw, do collages and stuff like that, but he mainly paints. What Summer does after school is a mystery to everyone. Sometimes, she doesn't return from where she's gone and only shows up after a couple of days.
Anyway, I've got to go. I have to catch something for supper tonight.

Dear RJ

Today was great. For about the first four seconds after I woke up. There were two different reasons.

First, I had a great big gash on my forearm from when dinner refused to die. A big buck with huge antlers. At least it provided a good dinner.
Second, my Dad told me I have to go back to school. Dad wouldn't let us walk the 24 miles between us and school, but we didn't have enough money to buy a teleporter. But apparently somebody had seen a couple of Woody's paintings, and wanted to buy all his work. So Dad had bought a teleporter. I told him that we were perfectly fine when we were being home-schooled by Mom. Immediately, I realised I'd overstepped the mark. Dad's eyes dimmed and his head went down.
Dad. I'm so sorry! I said.
It's okay. Just leave me for a bit. I'll be fine. he whispered.

Mom died seven years ago. She, and a couple of her friends, took me out hunting to teach me how to do it. We were on the trail of a herd of deer when Mom found some bear traps...the hard way. She fell in one, and we couldn't get her out in time. I was only six, Woody was almost eight and Summer was ten. Dad was devastated. He can't forgive himself for not coming with us. He thinks that if he had been there, he could have saved her with magyk.

I've got to go. Dad's bribing me to go to school again with a new bow...tough choice.

Rocky's a girl actually. Sorry if it was confusing. I'll edit it into the first post. Any ideas for what should happen at her first day at school. I'll post in a minute, let me just think something up!
