Lol I'm feeding the hungry. =DDear SJ,
I'm in some run-down place. It's a small town in the middle of nowhere, and there's nothing to do. So... I think I'll go and find some food.
I was walking down the street, scanning left and right for a place that might serve food. That's when I tripped on some stupid rock and fell face-first on the ground.
"Need some help?" a voice said.
I looked up and saw this:

"Uh, hi? And no, I'll be fine," I said, standing up and brushing myself off.
The she-dog looked me up and down.
"So, you're a punk huh? Cool," she said. "By the way, my name is Violet."
"I'm Lux."
Violet looked around at the old town.
"What're you doing in a town like this?" she asked.
"Pssht, I could ask you the same thing," I replied.
Violet's eyes narrowed.
"I asked first," she said.
"Okay fine. I'm here because I have nowhere else to go," I huffed.
A couple dogs on horses rode past us, craning their necks to get a better look at the two of us. We looked like outsiders compared to everyone else in this town.
"Let's go there," Violet said suddenly, pointing to a small, two-story house. "That's the bar. They serve food there."
I nodded and followed her across the street to the house/bar thingy.
Inside, dogs were sitting at the counter drinking root beers. Some were lounging on the couches in one corner, while others played darts and poker in the other. Everyone seemed to be dressed in Old West attire.
"Wow," I said. "It's like something out of an Old West movie..."
"A bit of a shock for you?" said Violet smugly as she led me over to the counter.
I rolled my eyes and sat on the stool next to her.
"Two root beers and a huge plate of ribs," Violet called.
"Comin' right up," the bartender said, hurrying into the kitchen.
I surveyed Violet's appearance. She looked gothic, no doubt about that. So what was she doing in a town like this?
"No offense, but you don't really look like you live here," I said to her without thinking.
She shrugged. "No offense taken. But honestly, I do live here. Hah, I only dress like this to rebel."
I didn't have time to ask her what she was rebelling against, for the bartender brought us our food and root beers.
I decided to drop the subject and ask later. Besides, the ribs were too good to let go to waste.
About an hour later, we were wiping barbecue sauce off our mouths and paws and washing it down with the last drops of our root beer.
I fished around my pockets for money to pay when Violet slapped a wad of cash on the counter.
"Meal's on me," she said.
Thank dog, I thought.
'Cause I'm broke!"So, where do you want to go next?" she inquired as we walked back out onto the busy street.
"A house?" I replied dumbly.
Violet's deep blue eyes looked as if they were holding a dark secret then. She looked troubled, hurt. Trapped.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, let's go."
And with that, she led the way down the street.
I kept wondering what I saw in her eyes.
She was thinking hard about something.
And it was nothing good.
