Dear SJ,

Well, it's my last day of detention. Sadly this happy moment was ruined by everyone at school. They were finally starting to noticed I had wings, and they were making fun of them left and right.
"Ooh, are you like, a dragon or something?" said one she-dog.
"Wow, somebody wants attention..." another said.
I ignored them all and tried my best to kindly explain that they were real and that I couldn't get rid of them. Too bad people don't listen.
It was third period when things really started to heat up.
"Look at her wings," Liana said, pointing at me. "Is that some kind of punk accessory?"
Savannah laughed.
"Probably," she said. "She's an attention whale."
I whirled around in my seat to face them.
"And like you two aren't?" I snapped. "These wings... I can never take them off. They're literally growing out of my back."
I then turned around to show them, and they emitted shocked gasps, as well as a few other students. Even my teacher, Ms. Welsh, was gaping at me.
Turning back to my original position, I fixed the two popular girls with a smirk.
"Oh my gosh, she's a freak," Savannah said, though sounded reluctant to let the words leave her mouth. I took immediate notice to this.
"Haha, what's wrong, Savvy? At a loss for words?" I snickered. "You too, Liana?"
Liana let out a "hmmph!" and tried her best to ignore me, pretending to focus on what Ms. Welsh had written on the board.
I found my teacher standing over me, and a moment later she said,
"Go to the office. Now."
"You're kidding right?" I growled. "I didn't do anything wrong! I was just showing them that my wings are real and----"
"NOW!" she yelled.
Casting a mutinous glare at every last dog in the classroom, I picked up my backpack, slung it over my shoulder, and stalked out of the room.
Forget the office.
I'm skipping school.
I veered away from the sidewalk that led to the main office and headed for the parking lot to find Shay's truck. I found it parked in the same spot as usual and fished around my pocket until I pulled out the extra key.
I glanced around to make sure nobody was watching, and then I unlocked the driver's side.
Climbing in, I threw my backpack in the passenger seat and revved the engine.
I managed to leave the school property without anyone noticing me.
Now to find a place to go.

Seriously, Lux? You need to learn how to face your problems instead of run away from them.
