N O V . 24th
?:?? AM
I slowly opened my eyes cautiously; scared of what demon, what monster, I would meet this time. Feeling my body float carelessly; my opening eyes were greeted by a brilliant, beautiful blue sky dappled with fluffy white clouds: Like you would see in a painting.
"Over here, young wanderer."
I turned around to see a man; about the same towering height as Dante, with fair cream skin whiter than mine; with golden, curly blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes. He wore a white robe, tied together with a golden string and floated about as I did; but only he donned tiny white wings, and a tiny smile. He floated from behind a cloud and stopped a few feet away from me, still smiling. I stayed there, frozen in confusion, staring at the angel with a blank stare.
"Don't be so afraid, little girl." He spoke in a angelic voice. "My name; is Gabriel." He outstretched his hand. I looked down and slowly reached to shake his hand.
"Now... I'm not going to hurt you, no? I'm nothing like my brother...."
"Wha-What's going on?" I stuttered, trying to comprehend what's going on.
Gabriel giggled and spun around in a circle, his robe flowing as he did so.
"Your glad he heard your prayer. Dante would have killed you."
Prayer... I hardly ever pray. I believe in a god, but I am not religious; I can't be any more being how much I commerce with demons.
But hold on; wait. What did I last say, before I was whisked away here?
"Your safe, here. Some plans are being made so he can't hurt you, nevermore." Gabriel spoke, nodding his head, still holding onto my hand.
"Who heard my prayer? What Prayer?"
"Do you not remember, silly?" Said Gabriel. "He-who-created-us-all. He wants to speak with you." Gabriel said; before floating quickly, dragging me by hand, weaving us through the puffy clouds.
He stopped and bowed, then left me alone. Alone....
On a great big white cloud that stood before me, a brilliant light shown and the apparition of a man stood in the center.
"Ben." A loud, heavenly voice spoke. "Your pure heart keeps you safe; you’re never alone. Just apart. Dante can never hurt you; nevermore."
I stared up into the cloud with the same blank stare I gave Gabriel when he first appeared. I cocked my head, in confusion, when it came to me. This is my god. I gasped in awe and bowed, in thankfulness, then looked into the center of the light with my hands held close together.
"Oh, thanks.. that’s a lot to ask for." I praised. "But... Whats gonna happen to Rake?"
It was appropriate for me to ask about Rake. He was my best friend now; he even admitted we had a friendship. I didn't want anything bad to happen to me; nor did I want nothing bad to happen to him. All I really wanted to do was go back living a normal life, with Rake by my side. But now I know, that was impossible. I was destined to do big things; I was destined for... that will remain a mystery for now.
"I can only help so much for a demon. But for one who died with such a pure heart, like Rake's; He is only partially safe from Dante, and all evil powers. I can only saw Dante will never be able to 'eavesdrop' and monitor every thing your acquaintance Rake does." The heavenly voice rang, with a sigh at the end. "You will know what to do."
Then at that moment; a descending stare case came from the blueness and Gabriel; from behind the clouds. “Your safe; but don't fall.” He whispered before sending me down the stare case.
"Thank you." I whispered back; before I realized I was back in that African savanna, With a beautiful orange and red sunrise; with the golden sun peaking out from the horizon.
I was by myself; but not alone.
I scanned the scene to make sure no animals of prey were stalking me, and to fins the camp. On the ground, laid my suitcase, and the staff Tak had. I picked them up and merrily went on my way down the dirt path towards that camp.
-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-
It was a long way; but I could do it alone, and without Rake. I longed for him and wondered where he went, but I knew he would be safe. At least I hope. I hope I was going to be safe.
A rustling in the tall grassed to my left made me jump; the only thing I could thing of is lion. And this is how I die. A great big lioness jumped from the grasses with fangs and claws beared; tackling me to the ground and ending my life by snapping the spinal cord on my back; making everything no dark and numb once and for all. But no.
I stood there holding out the staff towards the grasses, slowly moving backwards down the dirt road, shaking slightly in fear. I didn't know what was there, nor if they could hurt me; but I quivered, and spoke with great strength: "Come at me- OH GOD." Before I was cut off by a white creature, long and skinny like Rake; but smaller and more built, with something that looked like an executioner's hood; but with three holes for three red eyes.
"How D A R E you cross into our land!"
It spoke with a feminine, scratchy voice; forcing me down, and pinning me to the dirt path.
