The woods were always a magical place for me, a never ending adventure. That if I looked hard enough, what is not normally seen could be seen...I truly believed that the tree tops were home to tiny, rosy cheeked fairies and other magical creatures such as elves and angels. They say the woods are a haven for such creatures, the only true passage for angels, fairies and such folk to explore the human realm. The truth realm. That illusion is now shattered; I have out grown the theory of ‘magic’ and ‘magical’. Though the woods remain my faviroute place to ponder and relax.
I looked up towards the sky, branches were entwined creating a make shift roof top, sun light filtered in though the leaves, bathing the area in green light; the seductive colour of a shining jade gem. I could hear something, an unusual sound, a human sound; I’m not used to people being in this part of the woods, so many stories linger about the ‘dark creatures’ that inhabit the area has so far done its job in deterring inquisitive kids from wondering around. My shadow danced along beside me as I followed the sound, which now had developed into a muffled sobbing. I emerged from the trees and into a sun filled clearing; my eyes had to adjust to the sudden blinding white light. There sat a boy, looking no older than me, covering his face with his hands. His head snapped up, blue eyes piercing strait through me. A single tear glinting as it trailed down his pale cheek. Sitting there he looked almost god like, for his upper body was bare, the light moulding around his muscular frame; he seemed to be glowing. He was beautiful, angelic even. I moved closer, my eyes not breaking away from his. His muscles tensed as I came closer, His eyes met mine. Suddenly he jumped up; his face drenched in shock. Suddenly a pair of dove like wings spread around the boy, it took me a moment to release those beautiful angel wings belonged to him. I felt myself gasp; pulse racing. He shot upwards, the sun shimmering around his body.
I started laughing hysterically, a sure sign I was indefinitely in shock. It was unbelievable, not saying I believe in fairy tales but the stories tell of their magic and how they hide themselves in illusion and tricks...That only if you look for what you can’t see will what you can’t see be seen. It was worrying, was I going mad? Or had I really just seen the most beautiful creature in my life, the most angel like specimen that could ever walk the earth! I want to talk to him, to hear the voice that belonged to first angel I had met, to hear the secrets of glamour world...the other realm. No longer was I worried nor shocked, instead curiosity took hole of me; egging me on to find the angel boy.
I watched the sky for a moment longer, I knew he would not return until I had left and its was peaceful once more...
I walked briskly home my waist length brunette hair dancing around my waist. All I could see was the angel boy, his blue eyes that seemed more like pools of crystal water, his muscular frame and light brunette hair that covered his left eye. He was unmistakabley the most gorgeous boy I had ever seen. Shaking my head viciously I tried to think clearly again, I was nearly home now, for I could see the twinkling gas lamps hanging from the porch. Grandma and mother were home; I could tell for only grandma made time to light the lamps, and pour fresh water in the little painted saucer for the wild birds and any other little creature that stumbled upon our porch.
I walked in and headed straight up stairs, sitting down at my desk and pulling out my sketch pad. I needed to remember my angel boy, I didn’t know him and I already called him mine? I slowly did a sketch of him, sitting there face in his palms; I could take my time the image would forever be in my mind. Last I added a pair of delicate wings. Perfect. My angel boy was perfect. I spent the rest of the night in my room, I wasn’t hungry nor did I wish to spend time with my family; Though I could hear them arguing over something...I slept rather peacefully, greatly unusual for me.
