Chapter 1

Taken Away From Love

Skylar felt something pet her. She opened her eyes, seeing her owner gently pet her head. She hadn't been the same these days. She brought her for a walk, 4 times a day, she made sure she always had fresh water. "Was it something I did?" she thought, wondering what could drive her owner to do that. She heard knocking on the door, and her owner suddenly started crying. She grabbed her leash, clipped it on, and walked her to the door. She opened it, and greeted a pretty big looking man. Her owner gave him the leash, and looked away. The man called to her, "Come on Skylar." he said, but she refused to move. A couple minutes pasts, and the man had to pick her up. He opened the passenger seat on his truck, and he put her down on a blanket. Suddenly, Skylar saw a sign. She read it, "Sold" it said on it, in big bright letters. The motor started running, and she was then going farther and farther away from her beloved owner.

Skylar woke up, at the sound of cows. She lay there, on the side of the road. "Where's Emily?" she thought, "Where's Timber, and Jake, the family's cats?" she kept thinking. She looked around, and memory came back to her. A man had taken her away from home, he got her to fall asleep, and he must've dropped her here, in the middle of nowhere. She got up, and started walking towards an abandoned farm, she can see in the distance. She was halfway there, when another dog scent hit her nostrils. She looked around, but she couldn't see anything. She kept on going, until she was at the entrance of the barn. She walked in cautiously, hoping there was nothing dangerous in there. Suddenly, she was wrestled to the ground. She could feel another dog's breath come down on her neck. She closed her eyes, and waited for the bite to her neck to kill her. The weight was lifted off her, and she opened her eyes. In front of her, was a rather handsome looking Irish Setter. He was the same color as her, and he seemed rather joyful. "My name's Galactic Symphony, Universe for short. What's yours?" he said.
