Shadowspawn, or Jay, walked through the woods and listened to the crunch of the fresh leaves under his feet. The cool autumn breeze flowed delicately and carried the outdoor aroma of trees. He had his hands in his pockets and was admiring the simple beauty of this dimension. He didn't have to be back for awhile anyway, why not enjoy himself?

He looked at the light layer of leaves on the ground as he walked. He dreaded going back, he admired this realm. He wondered what it would be like to be a human and have the privilege to live here every day. Would it get old? Or would the great sensation of awe always be there?

Every time Jay visited this place known as earth, he felt that nothing else mattered. Its air of peace and nature blew his mind and calmed him. He made trips here every so often disregarding the fact that it is forbidden. He had once lived here many many years ago but remembered almost nothing. His charming green eyes studied every detail of the surface of earth.

He stopped and sat on a large nearby rock. He ran a hand through is bronze short hair and sighed. He looked through the trees to the sky. The bright blue sky with the patches of white and birds flying at high speeds never failed to amaze him. Not to mention the glowing main point that lit the world and made flames dance, the sun.

I don’t want to go back, at least not yet. I can only make so many trips to earth without being caught. If I could choose, I would spend my every last day here. No one can resist the simple presence of awe this planet carries with it. If only they still had the deals that demons used to make with humans centuries ago. Those were forbidden long ago though; they haven’t been made since the Banishment and Outlaw.

Jay stood and stretched his long well-muscled legs. He looked around one last time and continued walking. He had been at his favourite clearing which he tried to visit every time he came to earth. Jay looked at the trees and their different markings.

They are like snowflakes; none of them are the same. That works with humans too; no one is exactly the same. Even identical twins are different and individual people. With demons, a lot of us seem the same. We may look different but we tend to act the same. We copy one another like idiots. I refuse to follow the pattern, I’m different and I’m not afraid to admit it.

Jay looked down at his watch with a long drawn-out sigh. He faded out of the realm and went to the place he spent the majority of his time and lived. He knew that if he stayed on earth any longer then they’d get suspicious. The last thing he needed was a reason for them to target and watch him. He might be able to go back tomorrow if he was lucky.
