The icy wind howled across the ground. It pushed the soft falling snow into hard icy bullets, injuring any creature that dared venture out. Within this chaos, a thin, white wolf lied in a cave , her newborn pups snuggling up close to her, trying to keep warm. The next day the wild storm had passed. The wolf slowly walked out of the cave, careful not to sink into the soft, fresh white snow. She spotted a shadow-like creature in the distant. She cringed and slowly crawled into a near by snow drift. As the creature came closer she thought she reconised it. "Storm!"she shouted, jumping up out of the snow at the big, grey wolf. "Icicle"he replied, his sides heaving with effort. Icicle was so exited about seeing storm it took her a while to reconised the state he was in. What she saw haunted her memorys for the rest of her life. Blood ozing from deep gashes in his shoulders. His bleeding paws coloured his tracks bright red. The rare spots on his coat, not covered in wounds, was where snow tangled with his fur, all coloured blood red.

"Wh,what happened?!"Icicle said, her volcabulary crippled by the horror she saw in front of her."It was horrible..."Storm started to explain but then he thought the better of it."Quickly, show me where you left our pups. I'd rather not be out in the open after what I've been through. Besides, I'd like to see them."

"Their so beautiful"Storm said sighing"I know, young to. Less than 24 hours old"Icicle replied lovingly."So what happened? I mean, how did you get hurt?"
