The White Guardian
‘Click, click, click.’ I heard the typing of a keyboard while I lay tireless in my bed. I climbed out and walked into the kitchen, peeked around the wall and saw nothing but pure darkness. I guess I was hearing things.. I went over to the cabinet, and grabbed a small glass, then made my way to the fridge. I got the milk out and poured the milk into my glass until it was almost full. I heard a noise and turned to see two red eyes peering out from behind the sofa. I heard a menacing growl, then saw nothing. I turned to see something looking in from the window. I ran and knocked my glass of milk off the counter sending milk across the floor along with glass. I ran as fast as my short legs could go into the long dark hall that led to my bedroom only to find a large wolf like shadow with huge bared teeth, giant red eyes, and a huge swirling black form. I screamed as the shadow bellowed a roar that echoed through the hall. It came at me with such speed I couldn’t even peel my eyes away from the shadow-beast. I stood staring, wide mouthed, as the giant shadow leaped into the air. Something flashed by, a white blur. I heard a yelp. I opened my eyes to two wrestling shapes. One white and one black. They both seemed to be made of shadows. The black one was huge with giant black paws, giant teeth, and dark red eyes. The white one was just as big with giant white paws, giant teeth, and light blue eyes. I closed my eyes once more and opened them. I was in bed, the comforter constricting my every move, and, best of all, the beasts were gone. I didn’t want to get up, so I went back to bed hoping I wouldn’t have that dream again. Little did I know, it wasn’t a dream. An eerie howl came from outside, ghostly red eyes peered in through the window, and glared at me.
It’s eyes concealed a hidden hatred so fierce. It couldn’t hold its rage against that guardian much longer…
