¢нαρтєя 3: єαяℓу ѕησω

I believe it was around a week or so after I had opened my eyes that the young girl, Tara, had run in, her cheeks a frosty pink, her eyes almost covered by her fluffy pink hat. She always amazed me, and well, I guess I had always amazed her. I think she liked me for my bravery and stability, how, even though my brother and sisters eyes were open now, I was still the only one exploring new things everyday, and staying on my toes.


Well, that day, she had run in, squealing excitedly, my mother getting up to go to her side, sniffing her fingers, and licking them, looking up at her, whining profusely. My mother rarely left, but when she did, she wasn't gone for long, though when she came back, she always smelled fresh and like some other things, that did not yet register in my head.


Tara smiled at my mom, opening the stall door, my mother running out quickly, meeting up with my father at the large doors a few yards ahead. I tilted my head, always interested, as usual. I looked up at Tara, her blue eyes sparking with enthusiasm. Before I knew it, I was being picked up, carried quickly out the door, the girl giggling happily, running out the huge doors.


My eyes were wide open, my paws and body shaking from nervousness. I had never left the stall, and I hadn't planned on it, really. As I was carried, we slowed down, the full view of the 'out' in my eyes. I gulped lightly, whimpering softly, when my mother ran up to Tara, but her eyes focused on me intently. "Young Koda. This is the out, where when you are older, you will live. Cherish this experience, my sweetling. Explore, do not be afraid" she spoke gently, her voice reassuring. I knew I could trust her.


After a few minutes of looking around from up high, I was slowly let down to the ground, the soft, cold ground pressing against my tiny paw pads. I pushed on it expectantly, and when it did not move, I bounced on it a slight bit, my fur flowing in the wind, my blue eyes excited and getting more and more by the minute.


I must say I played and ran for around an hour, my mother and father watching contentedly, the girl Tara, sitting with them. It seemed as if everyone was interested in my first day out, even if they weren't sure how good it was. It was probably around a few minutes later when a cold breeze blew in, bit fluffy things covering the skies. I yelped, and ran to my mother, hiding under her fur. She tilted her head, blinking her eyes, then chuckling. "Koda, they are clouds, and they are here to bring you a present" she whispered, licking my fur, then nudging me out from under her.


I whined, and tried to crawl back, but then I was mesmerized, as soft flakes of cold landed on me, sticking to my nose, looking like the stars my mother had described that filled the skies at night. I had never seen them, but I imagined this is what they would look like. I stood there for a few seconds as it clung to my fur, and stayed there, forming a light cold coat, but that did not make me cold, for my fur was thick. My mother approached me, and smiled warmly. "Dear Koda, this is snow. What a lucky pup you are, how extraordinary you are. It's snowing earlier than it is supposed to, and it's all for you" she winked, licking me warmly.


We stayed out for another hour, frolicking in the soft falling snow, having the time of my life, and when it was time to go back in, I was relieved, because I knew what the upcoming days would hold for me....

Aww, I loved the line his mother said: "Dear Koda, this is snow. What a lucky pup you are, how extraordinary you are. It's snowing earlier than it is supposed to, and it's all for you"
