Acid rain

One wears black

They both live for the devil on bonfire night

One lives night
One can't sleep
They both missed heaven on the lonely steep

One tastes fear
One tastes blood
They both live cold on the godly flood

One knows bad
One knows good
They both know each other and where they stood

Like the look in his eyes
Scarlet
Like the blood on his hands
Yellow
Like the light that he seeks
Grey
Like the stones in his pockets

White
Like the salt on the windows
Green
Like the bottle of tears
Silver
Like the chain unseen
Black
Like the hole in his heart

Breaks away
From something more
Waits with patience
Doesn't understand
Stares at you
Innocently
Can't move
Won't understand

And the fire comes

Gives anything
To roll that dice
Deal his cards
Win that game

She's touching the flowers
He's watching her there
She's picking up stones
He's hoping she'll care

But the stars do not want
The light has to stop
She will not know who she is

She's walking sweet pathways
He's cautiously near
She's murmuring softly
Words he can not hear

Did you stare into the sun
And did you make it to the moon
Where ever he will go
You know you'll follow too

But the sun gives to the night
And the moon wanes at the sight
You feel yourself hoping now
As he throws you his black shroud

When the night gives to the day
He's taken you away
There's nothing you can do
But let the darkness carry you
