A tap on my door tore me from my thoughts and I opened the door to see Morgan. We walked down to the pier and joined our friends. I smiled a little. I was enjoying myself here, but there remained a tiny hollow part within me. It kept me back from being completely happy. Nothing like this seemed to affect my friends, so I hid it. I sat on the sun-bathed pier and looked at Ben as he pushed Kristen into the water. He turned around and looked at me and I quickly switched my gaze to the sea. In the distance, I could spot a boat floating along the water. It seemed to grow larger as it floated. The boat approached the island and eventually landed on the shore a little while away. Tiny figures moved about the boat and walked across the shore, disappearing into the guard headquarters. I looked at my phone. There was still ten minutes until the guards would come by.

Ben leaned towards me. "What are they doing?" he asked. "Huh? Oh, I don't know," I replied, my attention turning from him to the boat. He looked at me funny. "You okay?" he asked. "Yeah, I'm fine," I answered. I focused extra hard on the boat after that. The visitors were likely to exit the guard house when the guard on duty would come by. There were five minutes until that. "I'll be back," I stated to everyone, and walked off the pier. Ben followed me as I weaved my way towards the guard house. We stopped and hid behind a bush near the door. The guard on duty reached the house and entered, while the new guard exited the house. Seconds later three guys walked out and towards the boat. There was something about one of them. I studied the back of his head, trying to figure out what it was about him. Ben yanked my wrist, warning me that we had to get back to the dock. We walked casually back, trying to look as if we were innocent. "What was all that about?" Morgan asked. "I honestly have no idea," I shrugged.
