The stars were bright, and the sky was a deep blue color as we walked along the empty coastline. Everyone else was still night swimming, but we were talking and planning. My hair whipped my face as the wind blew by. I shivered and suggested that we head back to the dorms. "Nah, we still have two hours until curfew," objected Joey. Suddenly, Kristin tripped over something and went sprawling. Ben and Ryan were at her side instantly, and the rest of us quickly tried to help her up. "Oww, no, let me sit down for a minute," she exclaimed. I looked around for what had tripped her, and was about to give up when I found a hole. I cleared away the leaves and grass, and gasped. The hole was enormous! It was about four feet in diameter, and didn't seem to end soon. "Guys, come look at this! Kristin must have hit the edge with her foot. It's a wonder that she didn't fall in it!" I called to them, motioning frantically with my arms.
