Okay then. I can't wait until summer. I'll have sooo much more time to write. I'm also thinking of setting up an art shop.
We got up from the pier and wandered about the island, as the sun started to sink below the horizon. Two guys, Ryan and Nick, had joined us as we left. Ryan was a friendly, but quiet guy with very short, cropped, blond hair. Nick was a humorous person with dark brown hair. We watched the sky turn bright purple and pink as the sun disappeared. I spoke up,"Has it hit anyone else yet that our parents aren't around to nag us anymore? We're free, or at least freer than we were before". Everyone's faces light up at that, and the fireflies started to come out. The moon and stars were shining bright above us, and I did little twirls as I walked, humming. Soon the other girls were skipping and singing, caught in the happiness of being free. The guys just laughed at first, then, jokingly, paired up with the girls in mock ballet. With difficulty, we weaved between pairs, switching boys as we passed. There was much foot squishing and bumping into each other, but each person was laughing so hard that it didn't matter. Our little dances ended, and, exhausted after fifteen minutes of prancing around, we flopped on the grass. Light dew chilled my skin, but I felt comfortable, surrounded by the wonderful people in a not so horrible place after all. There we lay, so unconscious of what was to come, yet, somehow we would still be happy.
