The Snake
(from the snake's point of view)
Here I was again. Slithering through the long, dry grass which rustled with each powerful, writhing movement my body made as it squirmed it's way towards my prey. The darkness made it hard for the rabbit to see, but my vision was clear. I was a practiced hunter of the night, the silent silhouette that rode upon the shadows that flickered and changed with every ray of light.
I was now so close to the rabbit I could smell it, it's scent filling the slits on my nose that served as nostrils. My eyes burned amber, glittering like two shining topaz stones whose light lasted even through the black of midnight. I could not let this feed get away. A plump, fat rabbit like this one would satisfy my hunger for longer than any old rat. One of it's long, velvety ears twitched behind it's head, but before it had even had a chance to gather itself and leap away from the deadly creature stalking through the shadows, my fangs sank through it's fur and flesh, and the creature fell limp in my jaws. It was another successful night's hunt.
