I've been writing a lot
About my past
The old pain I used to feel
Like a syringe in my throat
It's more like a bruise now
Only hurts if you make it
Sometimes I try to make it
Sometimes it works
Sometimes my poems look more like the desperate writings of someone in distress

As I lay onto the mattress
I suffer
As my eyelids close
Tears seep out
And as my mind slips out of consciousness
I feel horrible, sick
In my dreams
I am a monster
Made from others recollections of myself
And I hate myself
Why would they do this to me
Why would they change my perception
I now fear opening up
Letting people close to me
Letting people touch me
Everytime I flinch
I feel regret and self hate
Why does this have to be why I feel
Why cant I just let people in
I'm just so scared
What if I get hurt again?
But what is fear to dictate me?

Over the pretty blue sky is where you can find me when you feel lost. If you are scared, come into my loving arms. I will protect you. You needn't be afraid. I can hear your heart racing through your flesh inside your chest. Can I have a bite? Would you want a snack? Come with me, I promise it's safe here. No one can hurt you, it's okay. No one can hear you. This is a good place. Do you feel safe yet? No? Ah, well, what a pity. You know I hate to do this darling. You were awfully kind, not to mention trusting. So easily I wrapped you around my finger dear. Now you will never leave. You are here to stay! What was that? You dont want to stay? Nonsense! Come, I'll make you feel right at home. Have no fear dear.

Excerpt 1 from "Diary of a Despondent Mother"

One day, I hope to be able to take my children up on my shoulders, and show them these lands. Where the grass is green and the hills roll on for miles. I will get to raise them in this gentle, but reckless, country side. No dictators to control the words I say or the actions I make. My children will grow up free here. My friends and family could move here, live out their lives with us. One day, I hope my dreams of grandeur will become reality. I know these hopes are in vain, as my land is ruled under the iron fist of man. As long as man rules these sweeping grasslands and gentle knolls, I, no, we can never be free. The ghosts that roam in the hoot owl's call will not be able to rest until I can cleanse this land of its impurities. The gouges in the ground that man has dug, I must patch with these broken hands.

Excerpt 2 from "Diary of a Despondent Mother"

Songbird! Sing out!! Tell these beasts of their wrongs. Fix their twisted minds and allow them to admit to their sins. The words you sing will show them how they have cursed these once pure lands. The water once so clear now stained with the blood of the forest. The ground once green with life and flourishing now crimson as they ruin it. They have created hell on Earth.

I will fix this myself. They think they can shed the blood of my brethren with no repercussions? They are sorely mistaken. I will make them bleed.

Excerpt 3 from "Diary of a Despondent Mother"

These beasts, who are they to tell me I am not fit to be a mother?! They have never raised a child, looked into their eyes, and wanted to make the world they loved in perfect. They have never experienced the pain when you hear your child has been hurt, or the anger when someone insults them. They have never had their child torn from their arms, and then placed into those of a wench. They are hell's minions, and they deserve the pain that is coming to them. Their blood nourishing this land will be repentance for their sins.
