I am unrecognizably unique
I wonder if i'll be successful
I hear crickets play their music
I see the tall flame lick the belly of the night
I want to be more poetic.
I am unrecognizably unique
I pretend to travel in the tales of my books
I feel unsatisfied with my mediocre life
I touch the smooth page and jolt back to reality.
I worry I cannot amount to anything
I cry. My tears fall onto the page silently.
I am unrecognizably unique
I understand I must work with what I have
I say I am strong, but even the mighty fall
I dream of other realities in which I am different
I try to help others understand
I hope I have the courage to continue
I am unrecognizably unique.
And that's just me
I wonder if i'll be successful
I hear crickets play their music
I see the tall flame lick the belly of the night
I want to be more poetic.
I am unrecognizably unique
I pretend to travel in the tales of my books
I feel unsatisfied with my mediocre life
I touch the smooth page and jolt back to reality.
I worry I cannot amount to anything
I cry. My tears fall onto the page silently.
I am unrecognizably unique
I understand I must work with what I have
I say I am strong, but even the mighty fall
I dream of other realities in which I am different
I try to help others understand
I hope I have the courage to continue
I am unrecognizably unique.
And that's just me
