Dear Saltface,

There's a new set of PPS twins at the school. Their names are Silver and Mercury.

Mercury is pretty cool. He instantly made friends with Whirlpool Hollyberry and invited me to his house to see a basketball game. Oh, and don't tell Ice I said this, but I've been noticing her staring at Mercury a lot. I see a future couple brewing...

Silver is another story. She is a MAJOR flirt. What happened today was a pretty good example.

I was walking to the library, keeping a close eye out for mistletoe. Suddenly, Silver came out of nowhere and grinned at me, batting her eyelashes. I noticed that her eyes were the color of sapphires. This did not help. She giggled and "accidently" dropped her books. Luckily for me, a teacher had decided to take this route to the library, and stopped by and helped her.

At lunch, this is what the announcements said:

"No students have a birthday today, but please be sure to wish the vice principal a happy birthday."
"Math tutoring is canceled today due to the fact that the teacher is sick."
"Please remember to look through the lost and found for lost items, because we will donate them to charity on the weekend."
"The winter dance is on Friday after school. Please remember to bring a dancing partner."

Instantly, I asked Snowy. Of course, she said yes. Now, I'll just have to avoid Silver, and I'll be okay. She will try to find me for sure and ask me.

Ice also got herself a partner: Mercury, Silver's brother. I have to thank Ice for that one, because siblings can't date their sibling's date's sibling.

And a shocker: Hershey got himself a partner, too: that weird girl, Stravi. What does he honestly see in her?

Bye for now, Salty.

Here comes a major plot twist and a cliffhanger!

Dear Saltface,

It's Friday, and the winter dance is very fun!

Snowy and I are dancing until we were completely drained from energy. That's when we hit the refreshments. There were cookies, chips, and candy as well as assorted meats such as steak and a mystery meat that turned out to be moose.

Next came a contest to see who kisses the best of all. Snowy and I kissed for the first time ever; it was so awesome! Anyway, we won second place to this wolf couple who were a grade above me and Snowy.

There were also assorted games like a bean bag toss, a ring toss, stuff like that.

Lastly, there was a raffle for an iPod. I entered, but a wolf I didn't know won.

Then, the party was over. Snowy got a ride from her mother and two sisters, but Hershey, Ice, and I had to walk home. It was very dark outside, so I flopped down on my bed and fell asleep.

Suddenly, I heard a loud clattering noise on my bedroom floor. I looked down. It was just my book that I must have kicked in my sleep.

I looked outside. Still dark. I sighed and tried to go back to sleep.

But I couldn't. I started to smell something burning coming from the kitchen.

Ice is probably making a midnight snack, I told myself. Or maybe Mum is making Vine's breakfast. But I still wanted to go down and investigate.

I quietly crept down the stairs, and into the kitchen. There, a dancing orange light and a thick wall of black smoke greeted me.

Chocolate Raspberry Apple Pie.

Tell you the rest later, Saltface.

Dear Saltface,

Yup. The kitchen was on fire. And the fire was rapidly spreading and making its way into the dining room.

I raced upstairs and into Hershey's room. Then, I turned on the light. "WAKE UP!!"

Hershey jumped four feet in the air. "Oh, it's you. Not cool, man."
"The kitchen is on fire," I snarled. "We have to get out. Now!"

That got Hershey wide awake. "We should tell the others!"
"I'll wake up Vine, Hermione, and Cassius," I told him. "You get Mum, Dad, and Ice."

Vine's room was the closest. She's one of those heavy sleepers.

I flicked the light on and off, saying, "Wake up wake up wake up wake up."

Vine opened one eye. "What now?"
I explained, and she got up. "Well, let's tell Hermione now."

Waking Hermione was almost exactly the same as waking Hershey.

Hershey met me in the hallway. "Cassius's room was between our parents' room and Ice's room. So I woke him up, too. They're coming."

Sure enough, Mum, Dad, Ice, and Cassius had emerged in the upstairs hallway.

"Don't bother to save any items," Dad commanded. "Just take yourselves, and get out! Remember, toys can be replaced, but you can't."

Okay, I admit it, I went back for my journal and a book. Then I raced out with the others.

Together, we watched as our house burned to the ground.

Bye for now, Salty.

Dear Saltface,

Luckily, our car got spared. So we'll be staying in that for a while. A neighbor called 991, and the fire fighters were on the scene almost immediantly. Then, a new truck pulled up. A newswolf said that they would put this story on the 6:00 news. She interviewed each of us after that. Then the fire was finally put out. They said that the fire was caused by a faulty electrical wire, and our house is a complete wreckage. Nothing survived, except the things that were saved just in time. Like my journal, Vine's fur-brush, Cassius's book, Ice's chocolate bar, and most importantly, our family.

Like I said, the car wasn't damaged. So we'll still be going to school. Chocolate Raspberry Apple Pie.
