The Skulk of Whispering Sands
Introduction wrote:Spiritual, enigmatic mysteries of foxes, The Skulk of Whispering Sands makes it's home in a harsh, sandy territory, where the only safe time to come out is at night, when the desert has finally cooled off. Their habits revolve deeply around their religious beliefs, and they spend a great deal of Skulk life revolved around spiritual activities.
About wrote:Not much is known about this Skulk, as they hide or run away quickly when outsiders are spotted. They are mysterious creatures, unable to quite understand the world, or others, that are outside of their little pocket of the world. To the few that do live with them, however, it is like home.
Their territory is a small chunk of the desert suited to their needs. Their dens are dug in sand, sheltered by nearby succulent plants,, which they can use for emergency water sources, if needed. A rather large, but stable, sand dune provides a much needed shield from the wind.
A small pool of water is not far from their den. There, they cool off, socialize, and on special nights, partake in their magical rituals, which are meant to do a variety of things, whether grant good luck to the Clan, or ward off sickness and injury.
Social wrote:Inside the Skulk, the foxes are very friendly towards each other, warm words interlaced with spiritual undertones being commonplace between them. They are always eager to help out, and they place a heavy reliance on inter-Skulk relations. The Queens and the Kits are taken care of first, followed by the Elders, and then so on. Kits are raised with a strong sense of community, and while one apprentice will have one mentor, it's often times that many apprentices and mentors will work together, including foxes that do not have apprentices, in order to make sure everyone is well rounded.
However, with outsiders, they are generally very wary. At Gatherings, they will be polite, some even friendly towards others, but they will not talk about themselves much, nor be interested much in the affairs of others. For all their intents and purposes, as long as the outside world leaves them alone, they will leave them alone as well.
