kosuke glanced over at kiwa, his only queen. he liked her a lot, and was very glad to have a friend to turn to. they had known each other for about two months, when kosuke left his pride to start his own. kiwa was a loner at the time, and the two were grateful to find each other. it didn't take long for them to realized that they made a good couple. they were both persistent and out-spoken, yet they respected each other. both were far from lazy, and were good at completing tasks together. kosuke could be a bit hot-headed at times, but kiwa always knew how to calm him down.
since then, the pair had travelled in search of a decent territory that wasn't already claimed. they had been in the savanna for a few months, and were comfortable in their new home. the territory had decent prey and little competition, which was the best kosuke could ask for. kiwa padded over to the king, nuzzling him affectionately.
"kosuke, i think we should consider having cubs."
"yeah," the lion said, nodding his head. "we need cubs if this pride is to be large. without cubs, a pride is nothing." the king's stomach rumbled, causing kiwa to giggle.
"and to have a large pride, we need food."
"hush." kosuke muttered, pawing at the queen playfully. kiwa returned the action, swatting at his ear. the male shook his head, licking the queen's cheek before standing.
"well, if you're going hunting, i might as well check to make sure no one's crossing into our territory."
"okay, kosuke. ill meet you here," kiwa said, giving the king one last nuzzle before leaving.
