This is a tryout form for this Kalon.

My Kal <3

Cosona

Female - She / Her

    Cosona's Personality

Cosona is a friendly, slightly odd Kalon with a deep appreciation for the subjects of science and mathematics. She's able to dedicate herself to her projects, and always follows through on that which she commits to. She's often very determined to meet her goals. She has a good heart, but at times can appear to lack emotion. Though, she can be very emotional when alone or with those she trusts, and sincerely cares deeply for those she finds important in her life.

    Cosona's Home

Cosona lived in California for most of her life, though she wasn't too fond of the famous beach so close to where she lived. She didn't like the crowds, or the way her fur felt after coming out of the water. She appreciated the beautiful view from the boardwalk, but aside from that it just wasn't a place meant for her. Cosona moved to Illinois in her early 20s, purchasing a small property with a small house to pursue a career within a famous observatory and research lab located in the state. Her property had a built-in workshop, where she'd fiddle with electronics and built various devices in her spare time. Mostly, she built computers for those she worked with to use in the lab, and upgrade devices for those she knew well.

    Cosona's History

Cosona was always a bit of a geeky type. From the time she was very young, she'd shown a deep interest in science and mathematics, and loved studying and doing homework. She would get excited easily over new discoveries she'd read about in journals she followed, and spend much of her time fiddling with electronics that she'd buy from the local flea market or yard sales for cheap, just for the sake of seeing how they work. Overall, she was a bit of an oddball in the eyes of others her age.

Throughout her time in school, Cosona didn't have many friends. She always found herself absorbed in her own studies and interests, and she often avoided spending time with others even when invited to hang out. However, she did have one close friend – a Kalon a little less than a year younger than her. Her name was Hannah, and she was a sweet and shy little Kalon. They'd been friends since Elementary, and were very close up until High School, when Hannah had to transfer to another school as her family was moving to another state.

When Cosona's one close friend had moved away, a sense of isolation finally set in. Cosona was lonely, and didn't know how to communicate well with others because she simply didn't have the experience. She'd been too focused on her interests and studies to care about her relationships with her classmates, and it was starting to affect her emotionally. Her odd way of acting and her obsession with certain specific subjects within science and mathematics confused some of the other Kalons, and she was often bullied or treated harshly because of her lack of understanding in a social sense and her previous actions which resulted in her isolation.

For some time, Cosona felt depressed and upset with herself and others. Though, when she had a thoughtful conversation with one of her teachers, she came to realize that she needed to find others who she could relate to – those who would really understand her, and she needed to give some attention to and appreciate the fact that others had interests different from hers. She'd been trying to force relationships to happen, and she'd been pushing her own interests on others. When she followed the advice she'd been given, and put thought into her interactions more-so, she quickly found that making new friends was not so hard for her at all.

Towards the end of High School, Cosona was on good terms with those around her, had friends' contacts, and felt confident in herself and her abilities. She'd also, despite having set time aside for others, found that she still had plenty of time to dedicate to her own interests, and she'd learned quite a bit both in school and on her own. She had a clear picture of how she wanted to move forward in life, and was ready to pursue a career in a subject that she cared for.

When Cosona entered college, she was ready to truly dedicate herself to her studies, but also understood at this point the importance of social interaction in her life. She had a friendly attitude towards others and showed interest in things others had to say before geeking out about her own interests. For some time, things were looking good. She'd gotten into college on a very good scholarship, and wasn't worried about the financial aspect either.

Everything was looking up to her, and overall she was feeling very positive.

When Cosona received her degree, she was immediately ready to search for a job that suited her level of education. She had followed the journal of a scientist who worked in an observatory and research lab in Illinois, and was heavily interested in any opportunities that may be open in that location, considering the lab's highly positive reputation, advanced equipment, history and fame. She contacted the head of the research department, who managed the staff and functions of the lab and observatory, and asked if there was an opening. They offered to conduct an interview, and Cosona happily accepted. Though, she was terribly nervous. If she wasn't accepted, she would be heartbroken. Working at this location would be a dream-come-true for her, and losing the opportunity would simply be crushing.

She gathered the materials she needed, rehearsed, packed up her general supplies for travel and caught a plane to Illinois when the time came for the interview. Her heart was racing non-stop as she entered the building. It was a gigantic structure, but seemed somewhat empty on the inside. Cosona was used to living in a highly populated town, and going through a highly populated school system. Though, she'd never felt a space as large as the inside of this building. Perhaps it was just her worries getting to her. She closed her eyes for a moment and took a breath to calm down before proceeding to the nearby receptionist.

...

After the interview, Cosona returned to her apartment in California.

About 2 weeks later, she received a call from a staff member of the observatory who'd been present during the interview. The woman on the other end asked Cosona how soon she'd be able to start, and Cosona held back a squeal. They decided on a date, and upon hanging up Cosona completely freaked out with excitement. Though, she still had to find a place to live in Illinois, and this also meant that she wouldn't know anyone there...

...

Luckily, a small property about 25 minutes away from the work location was up for sale. It was fairly new, but the owners were looking to move into a larger property as they were expecting a child. Cosona quickly contacted the owners, and asked to take over the property. She moved out of her apartment soon after, and got settled in this new house. It was much larger compared to her small apartment which she'd been used to, but costed only a bit more due to its location.

It took some time for Cosona to get used to her new workplace, but once she was settled and familiar with everything and everyone she was quite happy. She enjoyed coming into work, and pushed herself to do the best she could. She was praised by her superiors, and appreciated by her co-workers. She also had a hobby – repairing and putting together devices and computers in her spare time at home. When she was able to afford renovations after a couple of years, she built a small workshop within her house dedicated to the hobby.

At 25, Cosona's current age, she's found success in her career and grown relationships with her co-workers that she knows will last for a long time. She's also grown to be more friendly and approachable. Most importantly, she's a happy Kalon, and knows how to manage her time in a healthy way.

Though, sometimes, Cosona will sit in her workshop and think to herself that something is missing in her life. She can't figure out exactly what “that” is, but it saddens her. She never holds onto the feeling for too long though.

      Likes and Dislikes:

    Likes:
-Animals - She finds life in general fascinating, as well as the idea that life could exist on other planets. She often theorizes about possible species and functions that could be held within a lifeform, and tries to apply logic to mythological creatures in the sense of how they could possibly have actually existed.
-TV Shows - Only Sci-Fi and Non-Fiction, though. She isn't a big fan of genres such as horror, comedy or action unless they tie in aspects of reality or involve a subject she'd find particularly interesting.
-Electronics - Cosona is fascinated by electronics and various modern devices. She loves experimenting with different electronic materials and parts, and finding ways to better the efficiency of items.
-Rainbow Cookies - Cosona likes to munch on rainbow cookies more than any other snack. They're very yummy to her, and she loves the colors.
-Space - Cosona is deeply interested in outer space. She's always wanted to study the stars and faraway planets that exist, and work to develop new technology that could assist in the research of space and its contents.
-Space-based designs - Cosona loves designs that feature galaxies or stars, especially on clothing and accessories. She'll often be found wearing silly space-themed clothing, or accessories made based on all different sci-fi films.

    Dislikes:
-Drama Shows - Cosona dislikes drama in general, and watching shows that revolve around drama make her uncomfortable.
-Swimming - Cosona prefers to stay away from places like pools or beaches. She heavily dislikes the feeling of being wet.
-Littering - Cosona loves the planet and the environment. It's upsetting for her to see others litter or not recycle.
-Peanut Butter - Cosona isn't allergic to peanut butter, she just doesn't like the taste and texture... or the smell.
-Piercings - Cosona doesn't have a problem with others getting piercings, she just doesn't like them herself. She's a bit squeamish about needles in general, too.

    Miscellaneous Q&A

Would she join the dark side?: Depends on a lot of factors, mostly relating to what it means to be on the “dark side”. She doesn't believe in good and bad personally, so she'd look at the “dark side” as a point on a political spectrum, and depending on the views of that particular point she'd determine whether or not it would make sense to be on the dark side or not.

What is her favorite tv show and why?: Though Cosona generally prefers sci-fi shows over others, she'll enjoy general documentaries and non-fiction series as well. Her favorite show would actually be a documentary series – Planet Earth. She loves geeking out over the different animal facts the show has to share.
What is her favorite gaming device?: Cosona prefers using a PC for gaming, though she isn't honestly much of a gamer. She enjoys fiddling with the workings of a PC more than anything, and collecting upgrade parts as well as completing repairs for those she knows.
What is her favorite book genre?: Cosona prefers following scientific journals and research papers published by established scientists she admires over any other form of reading. Though, she does appreciate general non-fiction works / documents as well.

Thanks for Reading!
