Take Flight

She stood on top of the large building, tears rolling down her cheeks. She looked over the edge again and again, knowing she wanted to jump but knowing she would hurt the ones she loved. Then suddenly her foot moved off of the building and she fell…..

"Oh my god. Why do people do that?" I asked Jessie, who sat back, leaning away from the TV.
"I don’t know. But I would never do that, that’s for sure." She answered.
"Good. I don’t think I could live without you, you're my best friend, I tell you everything." I told her.
"Ya you do. Well I better get home soon so I'll see tomorrow. Bye."
"Ok bye." I said as she opened my front door and walked out. I turned my head back towards the TV and saw that they had already moved on to a different story. I could never do that to my friends and family or myself for that matter. I turned off the TV and walked upstairs to my room.
Once inside I noticed that the window was open and a large white feather was lying on my floor. I walked over shut the window and picked up the feather to examine it more closely. I saw that it was softer that a normal bird feather and whiter. So I figured that it must have come form somebody's pet bird that had got out of the house. I put the feather down on my bed side table and turned the light off.
"Ouch." I grumbled as I turned over onto my back. The pain in my back made me sit up and reach for the chain on my bedside table lamp. I felt my back but didn’t find anything that would make it hurt. It was a weird pain because it was right on both of the shoulder blades. I rolled my shoulders but it didn’t help so I quietly got out of bed and walked downstairs. In the kitchen I heated a heating bag and held it on my back. After a few minutes with no affect, I put the bag on the tabled and walked back up to my room and went back to sleep.
In the morning, when I rolled out of bed, my back was still hurting me. I stood up and that made it hurt even more. I walked down stairs and saw my mom standing in the doorway just about to leave for work.
"Is everything ok?" she asked me seeing my pain.
"Ya well no, my back is just really hurting me. I think I'll stay home from school today and call the doctor if it doesn’t ease up." I told her
"Ok. Well call me if you need anything."
"I will." I promised her. When she closed the door behind her I walked over and grabbed my phone off the back of the coach. I called up Jessie and told her that I wasn’t going to school because of my back and she said to get better and she would come over after school. After I hung up, I walked over to the bathroom and pulled up the back of my shirt. It wasn’t like I was ganna see anything but I turned my head around to look in the mirror.
I gasped at what I saw. There on both of my shoulder blades was a few small white feather looking things, like the one I had found in my room the night before.
