Rebelled against your closed minded ways
Fought against this never ending midnight
And tore through
To find to dawn alive and well
In a blind world

The tranquil blue rivers
That run out to meet a perfect sea
Littered with tiny boats

Gently breeze whistles through the
Painfully perfect trees

They can't see
Any of it

A beautiful blind society
Or an all-seeing world
Lost in the never ending midnight
Of their ugly, ugly lives

In a world where the bloody river runs out to the murky sea
Where the empty trees shriek and rattle
With the souls and bones
Of those who took their own lives
In a bid to escape

And the rivers are littered with bones and bodies
Once calm waters, now thick and syrupy
With crimson blood
And the rotting flesh of the fallen

Standing on the divide
Now I'm ready
To tear down the walls that keep us apart

To that we may find love
And two blind societies may finally
See
And become truely
Human.

Well, here's some poetry I wrote the day after I found out my grandpa has cancer. I was feeling especially sad. So, here are six poems for you to enjoy. If anyone takes the time to read this. Which they probably won't. Feedback would be appreciated on this thread.

Strong
I choke down
The lump in my throat
I have to stay strong
So instead of crying
I scoop up a book
I have friends to hug
Books to read
Songs to sing
Tears to keep bottled up
Until I'm safe in bed
With covers over my head
Lost in thought
Where nobody can see me
And there's nobody to be
Strong for

Ignorance
It's amazing
How bad you feel
When you live
In complete
Ignorance
And bliss
Until you realize
That something is
Wrong

Want
I want to get lost in a book.
I want to get out my feelings.
I want people to know how I feel
Without even knowing at all.

I want someone to give me a hug
And tell me it will be okay
And really know it's true
Or at least believe.

I want the world to shut up
And give me a meager moment of peace.
I want them to stop pushing me around
And consider that others have feelings, too.

I just want someone to understand.
I want anyone to understand.
And I want them to tell me
That they get it.

So I sit and wait
Until she's here.
I speak three words
And I have what I want.

Speak so few words
And get such a
Message across?

It all depends
On the words
You pick.

Items
An old tape measure
And a silver coin
Are the two objects
Hidden in my buttoned pocket
Because they are gifts
From someone special.

The Only Thing
The only thing that hurts worse
Than knowing the entire story
Is knowing only part of it
And missing the details
That are the difference
Between life and death

The one thing that hurts less
Than knowing the story
Is not knowing of it's existance at all

But when you hear about it
Your mind will be flooded with emotions
And you have to pick the one you feel most

Thanks Golden! I'm glad you liked it! And with you're Grandfather.. I hope he get's better.. A friend of mine just lost her grandfather to cancer yesterday... I actually did take the time to read them.. They're really good.. There are people out there who feel the same, if you have a school news paper, try to get one in there. I'm sure people will understand and help you through it

Writing a poem for my boyfriends birthday. How's this? It needs to be pretty corny and sweet, but I want it all to be real and sound good at the same time. Anything I need to change or think I could add?

From the deepest of oceans
To the farthest of stars
My love for you cannot be bound
In chains or behind bars
I can't live without you
I couldn't even try
You're my heart, my life
What I need to get by
I'm not good with emotions
I'm too scared to let them show
I just wish I was good with words
Or actions to let you know
When I promise you forever
I mean it completely
But I don't think it captures
The way I feel for you so deeply
You deserve someone better
Without a single flaw
Cause you're perfect, so perfect
You always leave me in awe
You make me so happy
I try to return the favor
And I know we're together alot
But every kiss, every touch I've learned to savor
All the distance is too far
Each inch makes my heart ache
I can't stand for us to be apart
It's almost more than I can take
So a I treasure all the memories
All the times we share
And I wrote this poem just to let you know
How much I really care
And I know it isn't great
Far from it in fact
Cause I can't put into words
How you make my heart act
You make me go insane
Drive me crazy with just a look
And you've put back the pieces of me
No matter what it took
You cheered me up when I was down
Brought me back from the edge
But I've never really told you how close
I came to jumping off that ledge
You've given me back my life
And a reason to smile again
But I know this feeling can't be given
Through use of paper or pen
I need you every moment
Every second of the day
I need you close to me
In every single way
Even on my darkest days
You've brought me up from being blue
So that is why I sum it up
With just these words: I love you.
