The Lonely Deer
A deer without a herd
Grazes in hollow, actions unheard.
Grass green and plump is what he preferred.
He ate it all, then the chance of finding it was blurred.
He eats dry, yellow grass and listens to the song of a young bird,
Sweet, smooth, lovely music is what he heard.
But something had been overheard,
Another herd, he inferred!
He dashed through the leaves, through plants rugged and absurd.
Instead he came to a field, with sheep and a shepherd.
He blinked and entered.
The man shooed him away, and the sheep stirred.
He ran away, feeling terrible that that had occurred.
When he got back to the hollow, he realized his sadness had been uncured.
He walked farther, and noticed a cage holding a myna bird.
A zoo! A zoo, where he should be transferred!
They took him in; of the deer he was third.
There was a doe and a fawn, his herd life had recurred!
He lived next to a tiger, orange, black and white furred.
Then, he realized, his sadness had been cured.
The deer was no longer lonely, no, lonely was not his word.
His word was happy, and no longer was he a deer without a herd.
This poem is about a depressed deer who just wants love <3
I'm super proud of this, I hope it becomes well known, or at least some feedback from you guys!
