drop, drip.. clack, click.. the sounds of rain falling on the roof of her room calmed Aviyah. reading 'tale of the tikis', she put down the book onto her bed. she padded down the steps, her tail waving slightly. once Aviyah was downstairs, she grabbed some chips from the pantry. heading back up the stairs, she looked out the window to her left. drip drip... it had stopped raining, drops of water falling from the edges of the roof. sunlight pierced through the clouds. scratching her head, she found herself in her room. reading the book once more, Aviyah noticed the soft sounds of rain on the roof.. click, click. she let out a purr, calmed. suddenly, the ground shook violently. the lamp on her sidetable fell to the carpet, her books falling from her shelf, the ceiling fan crashing to the floor. Aviyah let out a shriek of terror. she darted out of her room, downstairs, into the basement. the house seemed to crash around her, her family's belongings breaking and crashing. she ran into the basement and slammed the door shut.. what seemed like hours passed, and suddenly, the shaking stopped. Aviyah cautiously opened the door, peeking out from a crack. everything was broken.. glass covered the floor. pictures were torn. tears welled in her eyes and she stepped out from the basement. the door to her house unlocked, her parents running in. "Aviyah! Are you okay?" they ran to her, checking her. "I'm fine.." her parents looked around the house with worry. all three of them hugged each other, glad they were all safe.
