try out for these dolls. Decided last minute to move to a thread so I won't clutter the adoption page. I have no partner and will be trying for both.

Please do not steal any ideas on this thread and do not post on here. It is for my use only, any art of the dolls may go to the winner!

Why the flower names?

The flowers on these dolls tails is what really drew me to them. I decided to follow the theme of flowers, however I didn't want generic meaningless names such as Daisy or Tulip. I began to research plants and the symbolize behind them, shaping the flowers meanings to the story I had created for the doll. Alyena being the perfect twin, her name meaning of the Lotus and representing purity. Her shadow's name reflecting her skill and meaning perfection. Amaranthus on the other hand is lost and hopeless, so her name means hopelessness. Her shadow name having a much deeper meaning, such as her loss of innocence and dangerous admiration for her sister.

Who was Amaranthus before the jealousy and before her accident? Did she change at all?

Her face cracking was the pivotal point in the story of these dolls. Before her all Amaranthus was shy and sweet, the perfect little sister and perfect playmate. When met with rejection in comparison to her sister, this innocence was lost and she became jealous. Jealousy led to the crack and resulted in her following in her sisters steps after all and becoming manipulative.

Why the nicknames the Dollmaker and the Puppeteer?

Aylena is extremely skillful in her craft of whittling and woodwork and has made miniature dolls. While they do not speak or think as she and her sister and others at the Dollhouse they are dolls nonetheless. However Aylena did create her companion Amaranthus, and her shadow granted her life. Amaranthus has become reclusive and manipulative from the sidelines, pulling strings behind her sisters back.

How was Amaranthus brought to life?

Aylena was abandoned, and upon her shadow Camellia making a contract she still found herself lonely. She created herself a companion, a near replica to herself to call her sister. Camellia proposed giving the sister life to keep her doll happy, and Amaranthus was born. Camellia then split herself in two, originally being near staff like with multiple flowers. Carnation was born along with Amaranthus, the other half of both Aylena and Camellia.

Most would describe Aylena as perfection, the personification of poise and beauty. Excellent in her craft of whittling and many others, including dance and multiple instruments. Younger dolls strive to reach her level, however with every passing minute it grows more unattainable. She knows this, she knows that she stands alone and relishes in the fact. Her rosy cheeks and archaic smile all a facade, allowing this fox to gather it's ducklings until they prove no longer useful to her scheme. Her weakness is her strength, her fear of being alone has driven her to where she is now. Everyone loves her, and she has created her own sister. Though she believes Amaranthus to be a minion, she is still fiercely protective of her.

Camellia is the rock in the relationship. They keep Aylena strong and on the right path, always a shoulder to cry on and a tool to let her artistic sadness out with. This shadow would do anything to make Aylena happy, and thus far she has done everything in her power including splitting her own power to bring Amaranthus to life.

Amaranthus was always compared to her sister, always lesser and lacking. Her hair not as silky, her creations not as refined - her flowers wilted as she grew jealous. While they were young and new she admired her sister, just as her minions she strives to be like her. She was met with rejection, her innocence lost as she began changing herself to please those around her. Her outfit, her hair - until finally it became dangerous with the changes to her face. Her unsteady and anxious hand causing a crack in her soul and beauty. After this flaw she accepted she will never be good enough for those, and remains in her sisters shadow. Pulling the strings to eventually knock over her Sisters castle of cards. The duo being beautiful, dangerous, and manipulative - just in different manners.

Carnation is very much like it's twin Camellia. It provides a safe place for it's doll and carries out whatever it wishes to keep it happy and healthy. The shared shadow may share different names now but they are still one, and both share the same personality and ideals. They care equally for both dolls.

At this point of the form you may think these dolls hate each other, and be confused of why Aylena would create herself a sister only to despise her. The relationship is not as black and white, and love has far more complications then expected.



The deadly duo has grown more similar then they realize, both being manipulative beauties with followers under their wings to do their bidding. Aylena has a simple goal of control of other dolls, a constant masquerade of her true self. Amaranthus has the goal of destroying this lie her sister has held, but you must realize she does not wish to destroy her sister. The Sister has grown jealous of the Original, though she has realized her jealousy is artificial such as the persona Aylena has created. The Puppeteer is pulling the strings in the shadows, every flaw in Aylena's plan steaming from what Amaranthus has done in the background. Despite this interlocking spider web of lies and backstabs, the two have a fierce loyalty and love for the other.



Alyena has the fear of being alone and from this fear Amaranthus was created. While her 'friends' and 'lovers' know nothing of who she really is, her creation of a sister is her only true companion. Amaranthus has the fear of never being good enough, and in this process she had damaged her own form. While she expected the Dollmaker to be mad, Aylena is the only one who still saw the beauty in her creation. When someone would comment on the broken doll Aylena and the Shadows would attack, and would do anything to protect the younger sister. On the other hand Amaranthus is only seeking to destroy this persona so Aylena may be true to herself and find love for who she is.

Amaranthus always had the fear of never being good enough compared to her sister, and after the accident this fear intensified. The Dollmaker, noticed this and began to work on her Sister once again to make her orginial in her own way instead of a near clone.



It began with the slight changes to her wardrobe, adding a flare to Amara's shoulders and giving the twins matching rose belts. The Shadows and Aylena then creating the flower head piece to cover the cracks in beauty. In her younger sisters design she originally had no horns, and to balance the floral crown Aylena carved a singular horn and etched a unique pattern in the wood. The next step was of the Shadows plan, giving both the dolls a specific golden piece they created for their dolls. This is when the two had begun to be their own entities.



The natural differences are important to note as well. The eyes a powerful weapon to the soul and evident in these two. Aylena's eyes are dark and shrouded like the smog she has surrounded herself in. Amaranthus on the other hand, while she rarely opens her eyes they are a poisonous green as she seeks to tarnish this image her sister has created. Both dolls have sharp teeth and thorny vine like tongues which are effective in intimidation but not so much in the beauty department.

Now you will learn of the accident itself, of how Amaranthus ended up with a broken ego and broken face. While she was created to be a near replica to her sister she had always been viewed as a second choice, never quite good as Aylena herself. After all, why settle for a copy when you can have the Original? This is what spurred the dangerous idea by the younger sister.



Using her shadow Carnation, and against the shadows best judgement - she began to work on her own features. Making herself slightly shorter, her blush a lighter shade and skin a fairer tone. She wanted more and more enhancements, and thus she began to work on her eyes. She successfully changed her right eye, a neon green with a deeper and more dangerous slit. However her anxious hands caused a crack in the left eye, and over time it began to crack more and more until spread to half her face. Pieces of herself began to crumble fall, and Aylena was always there to glue and piece her creation and sister back together.

Every shadow has a job beyond the care of it's doll. Carnation and Camellia have a sharp edge much like their dolls sharp teeth. This knife like thorny bottom is used to carve, to whittle, and even to write.


Aylena as you know is the Dollmaker, she carves miniature dolls from wood then paints and dresses them. None of these creations are alive besides her sister Amaranthus, and are purely decorative and a hobby. She has a collection growing of them, some selling for large quantities of money and others gifted to those she wishes to gain love from.


Amaranthus prefers other woodwork and stone work, creating etches and other works of art inside the tablets of her choice. Unlike her sister, this is her own personal work and she does not sell or show anyone. She still retains some of her shy nature, having a small collection of these tablets.
