Chapter 1/Part 1 - The Injury

Postby feyre.archeron » Mon Jul 25, 2016 5:35 pm

There were no sunbeams spread out across the glistening snow, no warmth filtering through the barren forest in which the small pack of wolves called home. As a large gray wolf stood from his place in the snow, shaking the white flakes from his pelt others began to poke their heads through the thick white substance. Thirteen sets of eyes scanned the barren land, hunger rumbling deep in their stomachs. A slender white fae, her pale blue eyes echoing the hunger she felt, watching the pack with an intensity that could only be matched by that of the alpha. "Ferah, please gather the pack and begin a hunt, I must tend to your mother" the larger gray wolf commanded. The brilliant pale blue orbs grazed over his massive body, her ears rotating towards the brute. She nodded and got to her paws. Her pawsteps were light and her maw closed tight as she walked to the front of the pack. All eyes followed her, aware of her status within the pack, aware of her lineage. There was a certain respect in most of the eyes that stared after her, but others held contempt for the dearest daughter of the alphas. Afraid her lineage spoiled her, putting the pack in far more danger than most were truly comfortable with. However, despite all feelings, when the beta spoke all maw's snapped shut and all eyes focused in on her white form. "Winter is in full swing, the air is bitter and we are starved. Alkar is staying behind today to tend to Sarani, I will be taking Nukai, Avalon, Katri, Abon, Caster and Juno with me on the hunt. The rest of you stay and guard the den and my mother and father" most heads dropped rather respectfully, intent on pleasing the princess but others narrowed their eyes in disdain, a sense that the princess was all too aware of.
