“Hey Rhys! Wait up!”
“Yeah Rhys, we all can’t run as fast as you.”
Rhys only gave a quick look back at his friends, Cassian and Amren, before charging ahead, faster than he had been running before. He was leading his friends to a place that he had never shown anyone before, a place near and dear to his heart. “You slowpokes are going to have to catch up then!” They were getting closer, but Rhys had one more thing he had to do. There was a river running across Rhys and his friends’ path. Rhys knew there was a river, but his friends didn’t. Rhys stopped running right before the river, looking like he was waiting for his friends to catch up. His friends came charging at him, and fell into the river. Rhys burst out laughing.
“That is so not fair Rhys!”
While Rhys was distracted with Cassian, Amren pulled Rhys off his paws and into the water. Rhys landed on top of Cassian. Rhys jumped off of Cassian and playfully hissed at Amren. He pounced on Amren and laughed while they wrestled. Noticing that it was almost sunset, Rhys shot out of the water and ran, saying “We’re going to miss the best part!” over his shoulder. In the distance, there was a small cave. Rhys ran into the cave and looked around. Everything was still there. He looked up at the top of the cave. There was no ceiling which made it easy to climb up to the top.
“Could you have gone any faster Rhys?” Amren and Cassian walked into the cave, breathless from the run. Without a word, Rhys climbed up to the top of the cave and walked carefully to the edge, only looking back once to make sure Cassian and Amren were following.
“Just in time!” Rhys sat at the very edge of the cave. In the distance was the river. “Come on guys! It’s about to start!” Cassian and Amren sat next to Rhys and looked at the River where he was pointing. “Watch the river.” As the sun started slinking down to make way for the moon, the water turned all shades of the rainbow. “Wait, it gets better.” The rainbow in the water started dancing moving back and forth, up and down. It really was a spectacle, and the three friends watched it together, not as three, but as one.
