for a writing comp. Even if I don't win, I'll still probably continue if I don't get lazy xD}
All I could remember was falling. Down, down, down. I tried to wrap my wings around myself, preparing for when I hit the ground, even though I knew it was nearly impossible for me to get injured. I was an Angel, after all. I was used to flying and gliding, but falling was not something I had not been accustomed to, and I didn't like it. In fact, I was scared- which was unusual for me. Angels are supposed tl be fearless warriors. But I didn't know where I was falling, nor how I stared plummeting in the first place. All around me is dark, but the pitch black walls seem to say my name. "Estella..." they whisper over and over again. "Estella..." the voices get louder and louder until I can't stand it anymore and have to cover my ears to block it out- which doesn't help much, by the way.
In a flash, the voices stopped, and I landed with an impact that left a crater in the dark gray sand of the unknown place. White, silver, and gold feathers drifted down in a shower around me. With a grunt, I stepped out of the hole. "Welcome to my humble home, angel" A low voice sneered behind me. I quickly turned around, startled. My eyes widened at what I saw. A tall, dark haired boy, with long, curly horns and a skinny, red tail stood there. I narrowed my eyes the moment I saw him, immediately realizing what he was- a demon. And demons were not to be trusted. "Get back!" I spat, talking a step back to put as much space between me and him as possible. "I do not know why I am here, but you need to let me out!" I demanded. I would have been able to fly out the way I came, but the ceiling was completely sealed. There was no way out. The demon let out a low chuckle. "No can do. You see, we're getting married, Estella" My eyes widened. He can't be serious! Who in their right mind would come up witht this crap?! I thought, staring at the demon in disbelief. Demons were known tricksters, right? That was their thing, lying? So this was obviously a joke on me. "Listen, Buddy, evil demon- boy" I said angrily- but carefully. I didn't need some ticked off devil- follower attack me. "I don't know what game your trying to play here, but it's not funny" I told him, giving the boy a glare. "And last time I checked, it was off limits to kidnap an angel" I told him. He simply let out a deep chuckle. "Oh, Estrella. This isn't a joke. Since when did demons follow rules?" He asked, and my heart dropped. He definitely had a point...
I stood there in shock, unsure of what to say. I was NOT going to marry a dang demon. No way. In fact, I wasn't planning on marrying anyone anytime soon. Marriage among angels wasn't exactly common. If this guy was actually serious, which I was still slightly skeptical about, then I had to find a way to get out of here. And it had to be soon. I was pulled out of my thoughts as he spoke again. "Estella, wouldn't you like to know your fiance's name?" He said in a singsong voice. "No." I muttered, but he said it anyway. "My name's Damien" He told me. I raised an eyebrow. I didn't recognize the name {and trust me I know a LOT of demons' names}. He seemed to sense my perplexed expression, because he spoke up once again with the same arrogant tone. "I'm new here" He said proudly, but something in his eyes told me something else.
I looked at Damien, even more confused than I was just a moment ago. {Which was pretty confused, mind you}
