This is a Warrior Cats story about the life of my main OC, Rainstar. I'll be posting new chapters whenever I think of something and have time to write. ~Prolouge~

A cool newleaf breeze blew by, gently rustling the trees outlined in the night sky. A brown tom sat side-by-side with a pale tortoiseshell-and-white she-cat, both of them watching the stars. "We've lost another good warrior," the she-cat murmured, not taking her eyes of the stars. The tom dipped his head. "Boulderheart watches over us from StarClan now," he replied calmly, though grief shone in his yellow eyes as plain as the moon overhead. "Boulderheart was your brother," the she-cat pointed out. "It is natural for you to grieve him. Your Clan understands." "They can't see me like this, Berrysplash!" the tom snapped, whirling to face his medicine cat. "I'm their leader! They need to know I'm strong enough to guide them through anything!" Berrysplash shook her head, not at all phased by his sudden sharp comment. "Every cat knows you wish Boulderheart were still here. They don't act like they doubt you, do they? You're the one who guided them through the battle. They look up to you, Eaglestar, and they'd never put as much loyal to any other cat." Eaglestar remained silent, doubting Berrysplash's words. "We can't go on like this. There is far too much bloodshed, and for no good reason. We need to put this to an end, once and for all."

Chapter 1

"Hey Rainkit, bet you can't catch me!" Tigerkit's teasing mew called. "Oh, yeah? We'll just see about that!" Rainkit squeaked. Without a moment's hesitation, the little silver kit charged after her brother, easily tackling him before the reddish tabby could run away. "Got ya!" Rainkit purred. "Hey, no fair! I wasn't ready!" Tigerkit wailed. "When you're a warrior, you can't always be ready! Right, Silverpool?" Rainkit blinked at her mother, who was fondly watching her kits a few foxlengths away. "That's right," the silver queen purred, stretching before padding over to lick both kits' ears affectionately. Both Rainkit and Tigerkit, were around six moons old, soon to become apprentices. Icefur's kits Dawnkit, Duskkit, Mistkit and Willowkit, who were born around the same time, were just as eager as they were. Just then, Eaglestar's voice rang out in the clearing. "Let all cats old enough to swim gather to hear my words!" The RiverClan cats all assembled shortly thereafter, suprised murmurs spreading among the cats. Eaglestar waited for the noise to die down before continuing. "Cats of RiverClan," he mewed, "Every cat knows how many cats we lost in the last battle for the Sunningrocks. But we still won them, and all of you fought as bravely as the legendary LionClan." Yowls of agreement rose, and the brown tom let them go on for a few heartbeats before signalling for silence. "I have decided that it is time we welcome some new warriors-- and apprentices-- into the Clan." Eaglestar beckoned Moonpaw, Nightpaw, Talonpaw, Puddlepaw, Shimmerpaw, Rainkit, Tigerkit, Duskkit, Dawnkit, Mistkit, and Willowkit over with his tail. "Nightpaw, Talonpaw, Shimmerpaw, Puddlepaw and Moonpaw, do you all promise to uphold the warrior code and remain loyal to your Clan, even at the cost of your lives?" "I do," all five apprentices mewed. "Then by the power given to me by StarClan, I give you your new names. From this moment onward, you will be known as Moonglow, Nightwhisper, Talonslash, Shimmertail, and Puddlefall. StarClan honors your bravery, eagerness and courage, and we welcome you as full warriors of RiverClan." While the new warriors purred with pride, Eaglestar turned to the kits. "Rainkit, Tigerkit, Duskkit, Dawnkit, Willowkit and Mistkit, you are all six moons and ready to begin your warrior training. Rainpaw, your mentor will be Sunblaze. Sunblaze, pass on your undying optimism and loyalty to your apprentice. Tigerpaw, your mentor will be Ravenstrike. Ravenstrike, pass on your courage and cleverness to your apprentice. Duskpaw, your mentor will be Palesky. Palesky, pass on your kindness and compassion to your apprentice. Willowpaw, your mentor will be Thrushpelt. Thrushpelt, pass on your skill and adaptability to your apprentice. And last but not least, Mistpaw, your mentor will be Cloudsong. Cloudsong, pass on your energy and fiery spirit to your apprentice." The apprentices touched noses with their new mentors, and the Clan cheered the names of the new warriors and apprentices. But the joyous moment soon came to an end when familiar scent filled the camp. Rainpaw suddenly looked horrified as she recognized it at once.
