BWSDA #65 Tryout Story *Do not post

It was a cold winter day in Alaska. Nowhere was safe from this freezing cold, not even the shelter. Chase was sitting in the back corner of his cage, trying to stay away from the cold. It was a little after lunch, and Chase heard the familiar sound of the bells ringing on the front door. The cold blast of air followed, and then the noise of a child squealing in excitement. Usually, Chase would go to the front of his cage, and make himself look cute, but today was too cold. He stayed in his position in the back of his cage, curled up into a ball. The child's squealing got louder and Chase looked up. Her and her mother were looking at the beautiful husky that he had made friends with in their many days of sitting in the shelter. Then the mother turned around and gasped. She saw Chase's beautiful pelt, red and white, and his gorgeous brown eyes. Her husband had been looking for the perfect dog to start a sled dog team with, and this was it. The little girl reached her hand in and Chase slowly got up, allowing the girl to pet him. The shelter employee came in, and opened up Chase's cage. He was free!
After the long drive home, Chase was led to the front door of the home. It was warm, so he ran in, more than happy to get out of the cold. The kind lady put Chase in a beautiful silver harness, and offered him food. After he finished, he played fetch with the little girl, until her father came home. He smiled when he saw the red and white husky, and came over to pet him. Chase got to the man before the man came up to him. In all of his excitement, Chase accidentally bumped into the man. The entire family laughed. This family was perfect for Chase. No matter what happened, this was always going to be his family.
