[ Why I Want Him ]

I love hazard cats and I have tried out for a few
in the past but I only like to try out for creatures that I 100% feel
a connection to and this little guy fits the bill well. He is soo cute
and I tend to have a thing for four-legged creatures with wings.
His ears are bigger than his head and it makes me just want to
cuddle up with him! He has a cute, dark design and I think he would
be a great companion to some of my other characters and the
perfect first hazard cat for me! I love writing short stories and I
would love to include him in it, I actually have a great story idea..
but shh that's a secret! Anyways, I would also love to draw him
although I can only draw traditionally so I'll probably have to order
art of him more often. c:

Mischievous
Daniel loves messing around and playing pranks on other hazard cats but it often gets him into trouble. He isn't very sneaky or good at hiding, he's actually quite the opposite.. clumsy. He's plays pranks and doesn't even try to hide anymore, he just keels over with laughter. Often most hazard cats have learned to just chase him off and Daniel knows to leave them alone.

Child-Like
Daniel is child-like in the way of innocence and his views on the world. He views the world through the eyes of a child, always curious and typically overly positive. He's a firm believer that negativity kills and tries to cheer everyone up. He's almost too innocent though, when others hurt him or say things to get back at him he rarely even notices and is made fun of quite often but he has learned to put it behind him.

Funny
Daniel loves making everyone laugh and smile, it makes him happier inside. He uses all sorts of tactics to make others laugh from dancing and being weird to making punny jokes and purposely hurting himself. He may go to extremes sometimes but he thinks it all worth it for the cause of laughter.

Observant & Contemplative
Daniel is extremely observant of his surroundings and loves crime shows because he is really good at spotting all sorts of clues. He often finds himself observing other creatures and contemplating the way they work and how nature itself works. He could observe the way the sun shines off a stone in different ways for hours. He loves colors and could watch the blues of the ocean waves or a river current just for fun.

Organized
Daniel loves staying organized, it really bothers him when things are in disarray or something looks like it's about to fall. Staying organized helps him keep up with things. He's a huge procrastinator most of the time so staying organized at least makes it a little easier for him.

Independent
Daniel tends to like to do things on his own because he feels it just ends up better than when he lets someone else do it. It doesn't help that he's lazy though, he likes to do it on his own time too and hates when people try to do things for him or bother him too much. He also likes to have all of his own utensils and doesn't borrow anything from other people unless absolutely necessary.

Pulling Pranks
Daniel is the ultimate prankster, he absolutely lovvveeesss pranks! He pulls pranks on everyone but he does know his boundaries and doesn't go too overboard. Now sometimes people just don't take his pranks well but otherwise he keeps them under control pretty well. His pranks also work well as a way to frighten off or even hurt intruders who enter his territory. He isn't overly territorial but he knows when someone is no good and chases them out to keep the peace within.

Creating Jewelry
Ever since he was a little kitten Danny always liked to collect stones and rocks. He's quite the collector and as he grew he learned to actually use his huge collection of stones and rocks to create jewelry. He uses his own hand made tools and a few tossed out tools which he has snazzied up to create them. He carves the stones and rocks to fit into beautiful jewelry pieces and each one is a one of a kind piece. He sells them to passerby in his territory or gives them away as gifts for the kindness of a stranger. He uses old or tossed out copper, brass, and steel to place the stones and rocks in. Occasionally he would find gold or silver but only rarely and those he actually valued less than other things he created.

Designing
Daniel is a hugely organized creature and loves to design everything. His territory is so beautifully marked off with bushes that he planted around his entire territory. There are nine entrances to the territory each uniquely beautiful. The main entrance is his favorite design and most creatures who know his territory is there enter through it. His den which is under the roots of the largest tree in the center of his territory has such an intricate and beautifully lit underground tunnel system that Danny has trouble keeping other creatures out of it.

Pulling At His Ears
When Daniel gets nervous or is about to pull a prank he often pulls at his ears until they are raw. It keeps him calm but they often burn for about an hour afterwards. He also pulls at his ears when he is in an awkward situation or doesn't know what to do. If he gets stumped for ideas while creating jewelry or can't get a stone carved right he will pull and even twirl his ears.

Twitching His Tail
If Danny is deep in work or thought he will constantly be twitching his tail. Often times he will twitch his tail right into another creature and can get quite aggravating sometimes. He also twitches or wags his tail when he gets super excited and he doesn't know how else to handle his excitement.

Abandonment
As a child Daniel was constantly abandoned and neglected by friends and family so now when he meets anyone new he tries not to get too close unless he trusts them. Even when he trusts them they still seem to take advantage of him but he just obliviously trusts them again and again because of his forgiving nature.

Although Daniel is a dark creature himself, he is terrified of the dark. It is only heightened by the constant taunting that his friends and family gave and still give him. In the dark his vision isn't as good and he hates not being able to see what is going on and who is near him at all times because of his observant nature.

[ Rainy Days ]



*Listen to this while reading this one!

Some people think rainy days are gloomy because there isn't any sunshine and such but Daniel thinks they are just as great as any other day. He loves to dance in the rain and bounce in puddles splashing everything. He loves the squelching earth between his paws and racing through the mud, it's a perfect excuse to be messy! He loves the feel of the rain soaking through his fur and the way it fizzles out the smoke that constantly comes from his ribcage. Now flying in the rain can be hard for him but he loves it nevertheless.

[ Sunny Days ]

Don't get me wrong, Daniel likes sunny days too! He likes to walk through the sun-warmed grass and lay on warm rocks for a good nap typically after he's tired himself out from flying all day. Although he has wings, he never gets tired of the feeling of flight and diving through the sky often chasing birds. His favorite birds to chase are owls though because once he catches up to them he gives them giant hugs because their so big and soft! The only thing he doesn't like about sunny days is that when he tries to go fishing all the fish see the shadows of his wings and swim off.

[ Thunderstorms & Lightning Storms ]

Thunder and Lightning always spooks him but he loves the feel of thunder as it shakes the ground and the blinding flash of lightning is pretty awesome too, illuminating everything in the night. He loves when he catches a glimpse of lightning striking through the sky towards the earth. He was struck by lightning once as a very young child and since then he no longer fears it.

[ Dusk & Dawn ]

Daniel can be rather sentimental and loves watching the beauty of a sunrise or sunset. He loves the orange glow of the sun as it spreads warmth over the earth or the chill as the sun disappears in purples and pinks under the horizon. He especially likes them when there are clouds in the sky for all the colors to reflect off of.

[ Water ]

Daniel absolutely adores water because water means swimming! Danny has always loved to swim. He loves the way his fur seems to float from his body underwater and the weightlessness of his body. It takes barely any effort to flap his body through the water rather than through the sky but he prefers not to use his wings underwater. He prefers freshwater pools of water rather than the salty ocean. He doesn't like the salt in his fur and it burns his eyes more to see underwater although he loves salt water fish wayy more than freshwater fish. Daniel also loves to go fishing though, he adores the taste of fish. Fishing is really hard for him and takes lots of patience so majority of the time he ends up just diving after fish like a pelican and has gotten pretty good at catching them that way.

Walking through the forest with the trees swaying in the wind always gives Daniel a piece of mind. He loves jumping over tree roots on the ground and imagining a swirl of color around everything. He believes magic is everywhere and that it can be seen the most in the forest. He feels at one with nature and has always had an odd connection with the creatures of the forest. Often times he finds many of them following him and loves to play around with everything from raccoons to deer to wolves.

[ Mountains ]

Daniel loves mountain streams and often tries the human hobby of tubing down the rivers. He stole a float left on the side of a river one year and has used it ever since when he's feeling too lazy to swim which honestly isn't often. He hides his tube in a large hole under a tree by the river. It's in plain view to anyone on the river but it's a rather empty river majority of the time and humans don't stray there often. He loves the cool mountain air and flying around mountains is always really fun too!

[ Birds ]

Daniel absolutely adores birds. He loves the different chirps and songs that different species have and the varying beaks and colors. He thinks toucans have the coolest beaks and flamingos look the most flimsy. His favorites are probably birds of prey such as falcons and the golden eagle. Something about birds has always amazed them. As a child most people would pick on him saying things along the lines of 'you have wings so why do you care so much about stupid birds'. He just loves them! He loves collecting feathers and including them in his jewelry designing. He has always wished he could flap his wings as fast as a humming bird. He has trained himself well in flitting throughout the branches of trees like little birds do.

Because of Daniel's independent nature, he doesn't have very many lasting friendships although the ties he has made are strong and when he runs across those few that he dares to call his friends they've always got his back; typically though he prefers to stay all by his little lonesome.

Whenever Daniel needs a pick-me-up on his search for his parents he loves to stop by Camilla's part of the woods.

[ Josiah ]

Although he's never seen Josiah since they escaped, he cherishes his memories with him because he changed Daniel's life for the better and Daniel could never truly thank him for that no matter how hard he tried.

Daniel mostly keeps up with Gareth just to make sure he hasn't been captured.

[ Shattered Hearts ]
*Childhood*

Daniel started his life off with a mother, father, and a little sister, all of whom he has long since forgotten about. Only days after being born Daniel was captured by humans that cared little about his well-being or health. He was taken on long road trips in a large kennel that smelt like a wet dog. The humans attempted to feed him cat food and dog food but that's just not what he ate. He refused to be a domesticated creature or 'pet' to humans. He grew to resent them and soon started to bite and attack the hands that tried to feed him. They ended up throwing all sorts of human foods in his cage and stayed farther away from him. He enjoyed tantalizing the humans and although he was ferocious towards them they could not dispose of him because he was their way to riches. After a few months went by, Daniel started to lose his kick and the ferocious Daniel became the quiet and lonely Danny. He walked with his head hung low everywhere. Although he was only a child, his hopes and dreams had never even blossomed so they could even be shattered but his heart was shattered alright. He cared about nothing but escape and his desperate attempts led him no where because he was too weak to fight his chains anymore. His heart was set on destruction of everything. He was no longer given anything to sleep on and constantly destroyed his crates until he was finally just given a steel cage. He was never able to sleep which made him even more agitated.

Daniel had never met another creature except humans after being caged until one day he was taken to something similar to that of a zoo except the only people allowed to enter were people interested in buying the creatures. Daniel's caged was opened and he flew into the room crashing into every wall in an attempt to escape. Eventually he wore himself out and after being prodded with a stick through the walls he found his way to the pedestal in the center and sat on it with his wings drooping over the edge. The humans had raised voices and lifted their arms in the air and eventually a frightening looking man came up to the window. Daniel watched him with wary eyes and only moments later a dart stung his hindquarters and he fell into a deep sleep. In this sleep Daniel dreamed of his childhood being normal. He imagined growing up like a normal Hazard Cat but awoke to the cruel realization that he was alone in a cage again.

[ Rising Up From The Flames ]
*Teenage Years*

As Daniel started to move into his teenage phase he was placed in a zoo in a very large room with two doors in the back and a large window in the front. He couldn't see out of the window but he knew people were there... watching him. After a few weeks of solitude Danny refused to even fly around the room. One day a new animal was introduced or rather shoved into the room with Daniel. The creature had a happy aura radiating from it and it had no fear in its eyes. Wary, Daniel managed to stand and eye the creature with a gross disgust in his eyes. He bounded over to him happily. "Hi! My name's Josiah, what's your name?" Daniel glared at the creature named Josiah and refused to speak. He ducked his head and turned his back to the creature, fearing nothing. Josiah darted around back in front of Danny and sat there, "Why won't you speak to me, you shouldn't be so rude. If you're going to be stuck with me, being nice really helps keep you happy." Josiah smiled and refused to move until Daniel spoke. "Well ya know what, I shouldn't be here to start with! I should be out in the open sky, free! Why do you care anyways?!" Josiah sat unafraid of the angry little hazard cat, "Hey buddy, I was free my entire life up until a year ago when I was darted and caged." Danny lifted his eyes and finally made eye contact with Josiah. He shook his head and apologized, "I'm sorry man, the name's Daniel but you can call me Danny. I miss the life I could've had... I can't even remember my own family!" Josiah nodded sympathetically, "Dude it'll get better but only if you make it better. Nobody is going to make it better for you and the world doesn't owe you anything. It's a harsh truth." That moment was when Daniel's life changed, "Ya know what? You're right. You know what else, let's get out of here." Josiah nodded and silently looked at the doors, "Do you know how to open doors? Got any claws on you? Mine were removed because I was too smart to keep caged." Daniel smacked a paw on his forehead, "I was too busy crashing into everything and feeling sorry for myself to even think of that!" Daniel hurried over to one of the doors and used his claws to open it. The two raced through hallways scaring all the humans until they found themselves outside. Josiah grinned, "Don't worry about me bud, take to the skies and find your way home." Daniel nodded a goodbye and lifted into the air.

[ Phoenix-Heart ]
*Adulthood*

After Daniel's escape he hadn't encountered any creature... until today. A horse-like creature with saber-tooth fangs charged through the forest. Daniel lifted into the air and saw the humans and their dart guns. Crippled by fear he crashed back through the trees and landed hard on the ground. The equine was surrounded on all sides by the humans and Daniel just couldn't lift a paw to help him. Suddenly a creature darted up beside him, "Are you gonna help him or just stand there looking terrified?!" The creature bared her teeth and immediately sprinted towards one of the humans. Her claws him to bits until he ran off screaming. She and the horse raised quite a fight but they were slowly losing. Fighting all of the urges Daniel was having against joining the fight he lifted into the air and dived into the nearest human. After what seemed like an hour of fighting, the humans all left tattered and afraid. The colorful female stood on her back legs and eyed Daniel, "The name's Camilla and this here is Gareth." The equine dipped his head in respect and Daniel dropped to the ground, "I'm Daniel, where do y'all live?" Camilla smiled and looked to Gareth letting him speak this time, "We live here on this mountain side, it's full of weird creatures like us. The only problem is the humans nearby that keep trying to capture us so all of the creatures are rallying up against them." Daniel smiled and finally felt like he had a home but he still wanted to find his family, "Have you seen any creatures like me before?" Gareth looked down on Daniel, "Sorry little dude but there's nobody like that here." Daniel let out a slight wail and shook his head, "This place feels like somewhere I belong but I just can't stay, I need to find my family." Camilla and Gareth eyed each other and then nodded towards Daniel, "We understand, good luck on your journey and thank you for helping us." Daniel nodded and watched the two creatures leave. Looking up through the trees, Daniel jumped off the ground and took to the sky determined to find his family one day. Ever since the day he conquered his fears he has always stopped to help anyone and everyone that he possibly can because he never wants anyone to feel as horrible as he once did.
