19th poem ever written. Fourteen.
Image

A shining sword,
A flaming brand,
These weapons both she took in hand,

For ‘twas her fate,
to hate the beast,
And make its times of glutt‘ny cease,

She walked the way,
She walked the miles,
Explored the blackest, darkest wild,

‘Til the dark and fateful night,
She challenged Doom himself,
And she cursed him and his wealth,

The dragon roared and flaming sprang,
But the girl remained steadfast,
She brandished sword against the flame and then she greatly laughed,

Attack her mortal foe she did,
For he had killed her kin,
Now she would not cease the fight ‘til she had conquered him,

The dragon raged and ‘gain he struck,
But she won, sword poised aloft,
“So the mighty falls,” she laughed, and in his face she scoffed,

But as she readied for the blow,
She looked him in the eyes,
She saw they were so human that she left without her prize,

Now beneath the gleaming moon the dragon soars so free,
But the girl is lost and roams alone,
‘Til the dragon carries her home
The world is quiet here.

20th poem. Fifteen.

The archers had pledged their undying loyalty.
They could not fail.
This—this was their final stand.
The world is quiet here.

21st-ish poem. Fifteen.

Dragon Stone

The hissing sea,
The pounding wave,
These dangers we,
Both need to brave,

Before we reach,
The solid ground,
We will have beached,
We will have found,

The Dragon Stone,
And stole it way,
Through hollow bones,
Through night and day,

The hissing sea,
The pounding wave,
Two dangers we,
Alone have braved,

To save our home,
Redeem our land,
Our Dragon Stone,
Safe in the sand

15yo

“Why doesn’t anyone understand?”

The lonesome cry of the human race, echoed
from generation to generation.

And, following after, seldom heard but always
there, an answering call from the God who loves
you enough to die for you over and over again:

“I do, dear one.”
