Hi there c: This little thread here is going to be where I put all my short stories
for challenges and whatnot. So far I'm only participating in delcie and captain's
100 Scene Challenge and I'm thinking of doing the 100 One-Shot and Rainbow
challenges sometime. I am going to be using the same various characters for the
prompts. I'd like to ask that you please do not post. I will be asking for critiques
and whatnot in the Inklings thread, and if you'd like to comment I'll happily
hear your thoughts in a PM. Hope you enjoy,
~Mist <3

“Little by little, day by day, okay?” // “Get. Off. Right now.” // “... That’s it.”
// “So, uh, we should… probably run now.” // “You’re insane! I love it.”
“Hey, I offered to help you.” // “Who’s laughing now?” // “Would you please just be quiet?”
“Whoa, buttercup, whoa.” // "I can’t believe you talked me into this." // “Marry me?”
“Hey! I was gonna drink that!” // “You did all of this for me?” // “This isn’t over.”
“If you die, I’m gonna kill you.” // “Well, this is awkward.” // “It was you who was standing there.”
“That is the stupidest idea you’ve ever had. Of course I’m in.”// “Hey, I’m with you, okay? Always.”
“Uh, she’s gunna punch you, man.” // “BAHAHAHA- ahem.”// “I think I am concussed.”
“You have got to be kidding me.” // “This ain’t that kind of movie.” // “Is it… dead?”
“I’ll just sit here and wait for you to be finished.” // “You wound me.” // “Trust you? PAH.”
“I don’t know who you are.” // “It’s okay. I promise. I’m here.” // “Oh, this is going to be good.”
“Well, I finally got your attention.” // “Like a hole in the head.”// “I'm... okay.”
“Well, are you coming?” // “Where are your pants!?” // “Help me push it.”
“It’s almost midnight, no way!” // “Positively smashing.” // “Don’t let go, okay?”
“You can’t leave me like this.” // “Say that to my mother.” // “Sing me a lullaby, please?”
“This hurts worse than I thought it would.” // “Hah! - oh, wait, you’re serious?”
“As much as I’d enjoy that…” // -gasp- “The plague!” “No!” “YES.” // “I won’t let you do this.”
“I’ve still got it.” // “I can’t do it. I just can’t.” // "Don’t you ever do that again!"
“I thought I lost you.” // "Teach me?" // "Don’t you dare throw that snowball-"
"It could be worse." // "We’re in the middle of a thunderstorm and you wanna stop and feel the rain?"
"I’ve seen the way you look at me when you think I don’t notice." // "What are you so afraid of?”
“How did you get that scar?” // “You said WHAT?” // “Can you stop bringing that up?”
“Wait for me!” // “We’ll be dead by morning.” // “STOP TALKING.” // “I do.”
“I don’t want to.” // “What did I ever do to you?!” // “Follow me.”
-SIGH- “I can’t reach it.” // “What are you waiting for?” // “WAIT NO THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT-”
“I don’t need you.” // “You deserve better.” // “If you love something, let it go.”
“Why do I have to wear this?” // “Here goes nothing.” // “Where the heck were you?!”
“I don’t need help.” // “We’re gonna be parents…” // “I didn’t think you knew.”
“I thought those were poisonous.” // “Don’t make me go alone.” // “I’m sorry… I didn’t know.”
“I’d be lost without you.” // “Just leave me!” // “I dare you to…” // “Run!”
“How did you manage that?” // “Liar!” // “I don’t even want to be here.”
“Oh crap, we fell asleep!” // “Is this the life you wanted?” // “GIVE ME THAT.”
“Get back here!” // “Let go of me!” // “I’ll just follow you.” // “YOU DON’T SAY.”
“And yet, you love me anyway.” // “I just thought I’d have a swim.” // “Don’t cry.”

Reynar;; Reynar is a rather gorgeous elf. She is an average height for an elf, standing at 6"6, and has long, slim limbs with a pale complexion. Her hair is long and black and her eyes a beautiful royal blue. She is a bit of a heart-throb in her kingdom, the Forest Elves, and has two male elf's fighting for her affections. Reynar is a bit of a player however, and leads both of them on. Other traits Reynar has are adventurous, bossy, athletic, brave, careless, childish (at times), cocky, cheerful, courageous, indecisive, determined, irresponsible, energetic, nosy, friendly, reckless, show-off, intelligent, protective, spontaneous, stubborn and talented. Reynar was given to a childless couple when she was very young, and has been told her whole life that her parents died in a freak out-break of lyjane, the only illness that can ill an elf. Truthfully though, her mother and father are the King and Queen of the Forest elves (she doesn't find out till the middleish of the book series she comes from) and she meets the prince of the Mountain Elves, who also catches her eyes and she catches his.
Love interests;; Taneil, Zalvar, Ailmar Best friend;; Lorieen (Lo-reen)

Ava;; Average height, natural auburn hair, eighteen, hazel eyes, pale, clear skin. Ava is an unstable, indecisive girl who cares fiercely about her family. She hates the Institute and the Leaders, and only follows the rules because she doesn’t want her family to suffer. She struggles with socialising with other girls, and is very much a tomboy. Her only friend has ever been Lewis Jay, her destined partner, who she is usually carefree and stupid with. To everyone else she appears cold and stuck-up, but that’s because she is always feeling that everybody is judging her at the Institution because of her father, who before the Institution elections committed suicide because he thought his daughter wouldn’t make it and didn’t want to live starving on the streets poor, so he left behind his wife with six other younger children. Ava has a smart-mouth and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, however she’s very good at keeping secrets, and finding them out.
Love interests;; Lewis and Aidan Best friend;; Lewis

A drawing B.
A frequently has dreams or nightmares about B.
B is a demon summoned by wizard A to do their bidding.

The man looked up from his book to look out the window, peering to see if he could spot the moon. He leaped frantically from his seat on the couch when he saw where it was. It was nearly above the hole in his roof! He had one minute to finish the ritual, before it was too late. Everything depended upon this ritual. His house, his riches, his worth- everything. This ritual would show the other wizards- he deserved to be the new king. His uncle had done the right thing by choosing him.

Ever since the previous King of Wizard's son died, every witch and wizard were in a traumatic frenzy, panicking over who would take over their small kingdom. Actually, they couldn't even call it a kingdom. They lived secretly in the human kingdom, Lundane, living under the radar of the people living there. If the wizards were ever caught, they were always slain or burned right away. Humans fear the unknown, so they never give the witches and wizards a chance.

The job of the King of Wizards was to keep control of everyone. They made sure everyone was being secretive. Over-looked major plans, new developments in magic. Usually the ruler was to be in his thirties before allowed to rule, it was a tradition no one wanted to break. Until now.

King Julius' son had died three months ago. He had gone against the will of his father and made a fortune-telling stand at the human markets. Two of the human king's guards spotted him, and took him away, never to be found again. Nobody knows how the guard's knew he was a wizard and not just some pathetic human trying to get a bit of gold, but it has scared everyone in the wizards and witches society.

Then, to make everybody's fear peak to an extreme high, King Julius had been trying to find a spell to cure the sickness that took his wife, to make sure anybody else who developed it could be cured. But, instead of finding the cure, the sickness attacked him, and he was dead within a fortnight. On his last breath, he signed the kingdom over to Adam. A nineteen year old, new wizard who everybody was appalled to find out about. He was much to young to rule- he was still a child! The wizards and witches had been talking about over-throwing him, and letting Onarto rule- a thirty-five year old, experienced man. This is why Adam had to be successful with this ritual, or he would be dead within the week.

Nobody had ever successfully summoned a demon. Those who tried were often killed by the demon they'd summoned, or their souls were locked away and the demon free to rule their body, creating havoc in the wizard world. The chance that Adam would succeed, and remain with his soul in his own body was very slim, but he had nothing to lose. He was only nineteen, but he wanted to live. It wasn't his fault that his uncle had passed the kingdom over to him. That he was the last remaining from the original Royal bloodline, and his uncle wanted that line to continue. This demon he was going to summon- would be his ticket to a rich, long, royal life. He'd never wanted anything more.

That morning, Adam had already set up the equipment he thought he'd need. A large cage, big enough to fit a horse in, was right under the hole in his roof. His intention was for the demon to be born trapped in there, so he would have a head-start on trying to get it to do his bidding. A knife was already on the small table he'd moved beside it, and his father's spell-book lay open on the page with the chant he must say to complete the ritual.

Nervous fluttering started deep in his stomach, and he took deep, deep breaths, not wanting to be shaky when he sliced his hand. This was either the bravest or stupidest thing he was ever about to do.

At last, the moon was above the hole, and silver light streamed in, lighting the room in an eerie silver glow. Swiftly the wizard picked up the knife and sliced his palm. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't stop the nervous shakes, and the cut went deeper than he intended. He gasped with pain and closed his eyes, the stinging temporarily filling his brain, not letting any other thought out. After a moment it reduced itself to an ache, but he could now get on with the ritual.

Adam slipped his hand between the bars of the cage and squeezed, making sure there was a decent amount of his blood on the floor before he stopped and took his hand out, not wasting time by wiping the dripping blood off. Under his breath, he quickly chanted the words from the spellbook, over and over again, until the silver glow went from his room, and he was back in darkness.

Frantically he looked around, trying to see if the demon had landed in a different place in his room, but he saw nothing. Instantly, he thought he'd failed. He was going to die, never to be a Royal. Adam traipsed over to his tap in the joined kitchen, where he sullenly washed his cut. It was going to need stitches, but he couldn't be bothered. Instead, he wrapped a bandage tightly around his hand. Stitches could wait till the morning.

Suddenly, he felt the magic in him disappearing so quickly his knees felt faint and he had to lean against the wall, clutching at his chest. He had no idea what was happening, but he began to really panic as bright spots danced before his eyes and his breathing pace increased to quick pants. No matter how much breath he sucked in he felt like he couldn't breathe, and he thought his time had come already. But as soon as it had come, it stopped, leaving him feeling breathless and utterly exhausted.

Adam couldn't get up from the wall for a full minute, but when he did his eyes flicked over the massive cage and he froze.

Inside, was a beautiful girl about his age. And she was smiling at him.

The wizard just stared in shock at her, still breathing heavily from the tax on his magical energy. It had worked. There was a demon in his house. In the cage. He couldn't stop a satisfied smile from appearing on his face as he stared at her in wonder.

Adam had never seen a demon before, and he definitely didn't expect her to be so beautiful. Her brown curls fell perfectly over her shoulders, and her eyes were the most beautiful blue he'd ever seen. She had curves in all the right places, and had a face like an angel. He almost forgot she was a demon.

"What's your name?" she asked in a silky voice, putting one hand up to the bar.

"A-adam," the wizard stuttered, still in shock at her beauty. He'd been expecting some foul creature with poisonous claws, fangs and fur. Not a stunning woman.

"Adam, I have a deal for you," she spoke softly. Much to the wizard's disbelief, she stepped out of the cage, simply flowing through the bars. His heart began to beat solidly against his rib cage. Nothing stood between them now.

"Give me your soul willingly, and I'll make sure you are born into another body. If not, I will steal your soul and throw it away in the Underworld."

The words hung in the air.

The wizard now realised how when other witches or wizards summoned demons, this is why their bodies were taken over. His own father had been one of those wizards. He'd come home from his workplace in the town, where he chops wood for the people, but straight away Adam knew something was wrong, and the man was not his father. The next day, guards came and took him away, as he'd murdered so many innocent people who'd come for their wood to be cut.

"You don't understand, this is not a safe place for magic," Adam replied, crossing his arms. He wasn't about to be pressured by a girl.

Instead of becoming angry like he'd suspected she would, she simply smiled sweetly at him. "No, Adam. You are the one who does not understand."

"You will get executed if the people find you. Magic is looked upon as the ultimate crime. Even murder has a painless death." Adam glared at the girl. Foolish, she was.

"I do not care. Why you strange wizards feel the need to summon us demons from our realm, I do not know. And you wonder why we take your souls," she muttered, the calm, smiling look disappearing. She had never talked this much to a wizard. They were usually so scared at the mention of their souls they chose right away. This man in front of her was different, and she was curious.

"Why are you not scared at the thought of me chucking your soul away? You would be miserable, lonely, depressed and all that, for all eternity. Nobody wants that," she asked, looking him in the eye. She could always tell when someone was lying.

"I am not scared, because I am going to die anyways. Which is why I'm going to offer you a deal. Help me, and you will get a quarter of my riches," Adam replied, smugly looking at his fingers.

The demon-girl scoffed. "Why would I need to be given your pathetic human riches? I could simply steal your soul right now and get the riches myself, minus the helping you part," she replied, just as smug.

"If you can just 'steal my soul' why haven't you already?" Adam challenged, this time staring her in the eye. She confirmed his suspicions when she began to open and close her mouth like a fish, confusion clear in her eyes. "You can't, can you?"

Her eyes flicked down to the ground as she replied. "No, even demons cannot unwillingly take a soul."

"What is your name?" Adam demanded, getting angrier by the moment. How dare this girl threaten to take his soul? Demons had taken every single wizard or witch he knew, and now he knew why. If only his people had been stubborn and asked questions like him, they would be still be here. His father would still be here.

"Beatrice," she responded. Her eyes still hadn't lifted from the ground in front of Adam's feet.

The wizard grew bold, and took a step towards her. "Why do you lie about this?"

But he'd grown too bold, as she suddenly leaped at him, fangs growing from her mouth and nails sharpening into claws. She slashed across his arm before leaping onto the lampshade, where she hung precariously. "I do not answer questions. I'm the one who asks," she snapped at him, snarling through her pointed teeth.

Adam was completely dazed as he touched the blood pouring from the wound, holding it up to see. Beatrice had been so quick, he hadn't had a chance to defend himself. A new wariness entered is eyes as he backed away from the light, where she was still swinging. Her eyes gleamed with murderous hate, but for some reason Adam knew she wouldn't kill him. Every wizard and witch knew that the demon needed a whole, alive body to enter. Otherwise, the corpse would decompose, and they'd be trapped before they were able to escape. Beatrice was either going to wait until Adam agreed to let her take over his body, or kill him and remained trapped, as demons could only enter the body of the soul who summoned them.

"Why do you lie about this?" He bravely asked again, reaching behind him to try and grab something, anything, that could be used to defend himself. His hand grasped around a fork, which he subtly hid beside him.

Beatrice cocked her head to one side, and he was absolutely disgusted when a long, scaly tongue emerged from her mouth with a hissing sound. The beautiful girl he'd first seen was obviously only one of her sides. This side was a disgusting, half-reptilian side he didn't want to take his chances with.

"We don't lie, silly wizard. We simply leave our patrons believing," she hissed, flicking her tongue again.

"Whatever. Anyways, you must help me. It's the only reason I summoned you here," Adam said through gritted teeth. She was really getting on his nerves.

At this statement her eyes snapped towards Adam's face. "Help you with what? Wizards are too 'high class' for us demons," Beatrice spat at him. He took a step backwards away from the flying saliva, trying desperately to keep his cool.

"Well, if you don't help me I'm going to be dead before the end of the week. Which is four days away, if you weren't aware."
