Summary:
Phoenix decides to be romantic for Tara since he is still away in Australia for Valentines day. So he chooses a romantic song to ride Paole too and hilarity ensues when he sends the resulting video to his lady.

Her fingers drumming on the tabletop Tara is sitting at her desktop computer waiting for it to boot up. The lights are dimmed and the screen shinning white and blue light over her skin as she periodically reaches for her cup of steaming hot chocolate. Things have been pretty lonely as of late with Phoenix gone off to have fun in Australia while waiting out the pregnancy of Venah. Basically he'll be gone for a year and besides a few planned months that Tara will fly over with a couple tolters to do some shows and let Ervacon bask in the Aussie sun, they'll be apart. With a muted ding her eyes flick back up to the screen and she snaps out of her brooding. Phoenix had sent her a message over Skype, going to the page her brow furrows at the video link. With a sign her eyes roll up to the ceiling, her way of silently cursing him if it is another rick rolling, and clicks the cursor over it.
Waiting for the page to load she leans back in her squeaky desk chair and runs a hand over her hair, pulled back in a frazzled attempt at a pony tail. When you have a job like hers trying to run a large scale estate like Serpentine you learn to give up on keeping presentable. The advertisement starts along with the drumming on her fingers on the desk again and another sip of cocoa. After the most prolonged 30 seconds of her life the video starts up with just a winky face on a black screen before it fades into a shaky shot of a hard packed indoor sand arena. The camera slides over to get a shot of Paole prancing about waiting to get his go in the ring. Phoenix pops up over his back as the camera zooms taking an interesting angle of the mounting process. Once atop the fidgety stallion, Tara smirks at the goofy signature grin Phoenix shoots the cameraperson before turning serious and waiting to be called into the ring. When the voice booms over the loudspeakers drowning out the white noise of chatter, calling Phoenix out to do what he does best he sends one last wink to the viewer.
Tara pauses the video here to go get a snack it is about 9pm and she hadn't bothered with eating supper yet. There should still be some leftover soup in the fridge, she hasn't gotten used to making smaller meals just yet. Padding over to the kitchen she bends down to rummage around for the container. "Bingo." she mutters to herself maneuvering it around the milk carton and over the little stash of chocolates. plunking the soup onto the island facing the computer she pulls out a bowl and ladle to prepare her meal. As she is slamming the door closed on the microwave and punching the buttons, the computer dings soon followed by the Skype ringtone. Her head jerks around, ponytail swinging and she is soon jogging over to eagerly answer. The grinning visage of her significant others pops up on screen and she can't hold back her own smile.
"Hello, love." Phoenix says while adjusting to sit more comfortably and run a hand through his sleep tousled hair. Sunlight is streaming in through windows all around him as it is about 9am his time and he had probably just woken up. Tara's eyes track the motion and she bites her lip subconsciously, one of her favourite things had always been to play with his hair. Now she is missing that simple action more then him as a whole at the moment. As her attention goes back to his face, he is wearing a knowing look and very specifically does the motion again slower this time. Tara raises an eyebrow and threateningly makes a show of reaching for the power button. Phoenix laughs before halting the teasing and leaning forward on the table crossing his elbows and resting his chin on his arms. "Did you watch the video yet?"
"Nope, I was just about to make some food and settle down to watch it." she microwave beeping punctuates her sentence and she moves away from the computer to get her food. Dipping a finger in the broth she huffs to find it only luke warm and shoves it back in.
"What you eating there?" the computer mumbles while the imagine of Phoenix yawns and starts flipping through internet tabs, planning the show schedule for the next month.
Throwing a snort over her shoulder Tara opens the microwave for the third time but in this instance walks away satisfied with the temperature of her supper. "Leftover soup from last night. Don't tell me you're tired of all the Australian cuisine already." She places her soup on the desk before settling back into her chair, which lets out a single squeal in protest.
"What? Nawh. I'm still good with their food I just miss all your mother's home cooking." his voice goes a bit distant for a moment as he gets up and moves across the room to change out of his sleeping clothes. Tara rolls he eyes at his comment, even when her mother wasn't there to hear it he was always a kiss up.
Putting a spoonful of veggies and broth in her mouth she has a playful glare while chewing. He comes back into camera buttoning up his shirt and seeing her look gives her a grin pairing it with a shrug. She swallows and points at him with the spoon, "You know if you keep complimenting her like that her head will get so big she'll float away." getting an idea she taps her chin with the spoon in an exaggerated motion of thinking, "On second thought keep doing it." She smiles and proceeds to eat her soup while Phoenix scoffs.
Returning to his previous seat he rolls his chair to face the screen grabbing a pen and notebook. After a few moments of Tara enjoying her soup and Phoenix writing he stops and looks up at her image. "So are you going to watch the video? It is kind of a time sensitive piece."
She pauses mid bite giving him an odd look, "What do you mean time sensitive?"
"What day is it today?" is all he says as a reply, now munching on some kind of cookie or cracker.
Moving her cursor to the corner of the screen she checks she date and shrugs, "The 13th of February? What about it?"
Phoenix laughs once and shakes his head, "Oh yeah I forgot about the timezones. Well today is actually the 14th of February a certain holiday or something is today I believe." Tara's suspicious look comes out now and she narrows her eyes before enlarging the video window again. She gives him one last searching glance and he returns it with a sheepish grin, making her all the more wary.
The camera operator has now started panning out to keep Paole and Phoenix in view as they make their way to the center of the arena. Phoenix nods his head once and the music starts playing.
