Does anyone else find that the types of books they read, affects their writing style?
Definitely. In fact, it's really hard for me not to make my stories too similar to the ones I read. Percy Jackson series and the Maze Runner series have probably had the biggest effect on my writing, but so have Divergent and Harry Potter.
Which story/stories of yours do you most want people to read and give feedback on?
The Confound Nexus and
Feral Heart.
Love 'em.
But then, you knew that, didn't you? XD

*gasp*
I wanna see!!
Can we see it?
come on, you can't deny the big puppy eyes!??
Basically, like ten years ago my mother and I invented a vast alternate universe. There's about 11 planets and about 20-some different races, one of which are Katomoraks...
They're generally thought of as bad guys, but there are a few hero-heroines (Bleal, Sondar, Mafista, Nede, Melik, etc.)
But sending you this is generally easier.. (wrote it like four or five years ago... but yah.. Go ahead...Poor Jakitai.. He's a bad guy though... so whatever...)
A twig snapped and the pirate swung around, his fists clenched around the black hilt of his Katomorak sword.
A tall figure, garbed in the uniform of an Illian warrior, stood before him, leaning carelessly against a smooth-barked tree.
The pirate waited for the stranger to make the first move, his gaze unwavering. About them, the hoarse cries of Illian warriors and interplanetary pirates mingled in the night. The blast of Nordone weapons thundered in their ears. The pirate dove to the ground as a bomb smashed against the forest floor mere yards away with a deafening crash. As he staggered hurriedly to his feet, his head still ringing from the affects of the bomb, the pirate saw the stranger straighten and approach, one hand gripping the hilt of the Katomorak sword sheathed at his hip. The pirate’s dark eyes narrowed as he brought his sword up to protect his chest and neck.
The stranger stopped and looked the pirate square in the eye.
There was a flash of light as the blinding glow of Illiae’s three moons hit the blade of the dark figure’s sword and the pirate inhaled hastily, his free hand straying to his right arm. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, the man pulled his hand away from the bloody wound and threw his blade against the stranger’s.
The stranger held his ground and pushed back against the pirate.
Gritting his teeth, the man spun to avoid being trapped between the stranger’s sword and an immense tree. He aimed a blow at his opponent’s back but his sword sliced through thin air as the Illian warrior skipped nimbly away. The pirate barely felt the deep wound in his arm as he blocked the other man’s attacks. The clash of swords echoed in his ears as his blade went up, almost mechanically, time and time again. Suddenly, he saw the blade of his opponent’s sword grow red and heard the hiss of flames as the Katomorak sword’s original purpose was put into use, a sword of fire. Sparks flew as the two swords smashed together once more.
The stranger forced the interplanetary pirate to his knees, the sword in his hands growing hotter by the second. The pirate attempted to roll away but, instantly grabbing the abandoned sword, the Illian warrior thrust it into its owner’s cloak. In one swift movement, the pirate, the blazing sword embedded in his heart, lay dead at the stranger’s feet.
I
Love it.

Welcome! Now that you're here, be sure to avoid carrots, they're very dangerous. Very.
Apparently this thread nearly got locked due to the carrot thing, so I don't think you guys should be bringing it up to every new person that comes along.
Also, Lillybear, even if you don't want to share any of your writing, we sometimes ask each other questions that you may enjoy answering. c:
Not quite, I think
We nearly got it locked because of narwhales (don't ask

)
carrots were because someone had an undefeatable villian, so Afflated suggested they bad-guy choked to death on a carrot
Carrots are evil
