Prologue
I sat, tapping my foot impatiently, waiting for the bell for break to ring. I rolled my eyes at Lauren, thinking she was doing the same thing. "Quarter to, yet?" I whispered while Ms Gallagher was still talking.
"Almost," she whispered back. "Two minutes."
"Leah, Lauren," Our teacher interrupted. She's so annoying, I'm surprised I haven't died of boredom! "Got something to share with everyone?"
We shook our heads, only the slightest bit humiliated.
"Okay, pay attention."
I heard snickering coming from behind. I turned around to see Arron and Fraser whispering. Then Arron looked to me. "Can't be bothered listening to algebra?" he teased. "It's not hard, I promise."
I looked to Lauren for help. She murmured to me, "It's only banter."
