Chimeric custom -
black and blood bay chimeric with brindle and pintaloosa with bright green eyes. The blood bay is the main coat, then black seeming to 'take it over'. Maybe the brindle could be red, streaking through the black like claw marks. Badger face, no leg markings. I think the best way to approach this is to make the rich blood bay with the pintaloosa, then color it in black and use the brindling/claw marks to show the coat underneath.

Custom - 120 Points
A tolter based off my dear kitty Zippo. Black, with a white stomach and a little bit of white on his chest. Includes white whiskers, and bright green/yellow eyes. I want him to have large white angel wings, similar to this.

A Pirate's Life

Postby zippo. » Thu May 28, 2015 8:36 am

Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones, Elizabeth Swan
word count - 614

"He's not coming back Elizabeth" Jack drunkenly sputtered, stumbling down the bridge to Elizabeth.

She was looking longingly at the sunset, awaiting Will's return. It's been nine years, and soon he will come back for his day on land. That was the curse. "He's coming back Jack" she huffed, flicking her tail into his face as he neared her side.

"she's right ya know Sparrow" a familiar voice hissed from underneath the dock.

Jack jumped in surprise, Elizabeth shrieked, the two of them peeking over the edge to see Davy Jones himself playing in the shallow waters. A small cluster of sea life at his hooves, including crabs and minnows.

"Davvvy!" Jack smiled, once again making a dumb decision to leap off the bridge and stumble into the wet sand underneath.

Elizabeth took the easy way out, simply going down the stairs at the front of the bridge. "I'm always right, he just refuses to notice" she rolled her eyes. The harsh morning sun got in the jewels cleverly covered by sand. Not clever enough.

"Jones, I know you're supposed to be this all high and mighty pirate, but could you babysit Jack?" she smiled sweetly, looking back to still see Jack struggling to get out of the sand.

"Not my job he's gone and drunk to much rum" he grumbled, turning away from them and back to his fishy friends beneath him.

Jack finally managed to pull himself up and make his way to them. "Hey! Shiny!" he mistakenly shouted, knocking the bag of jewels out from it's hiding place.

"Jaaack!" Elizabeth groaned, he's foiled another one of her plans. She slammed Jones out of the way, snatching the burlap sack in her mouth and taking off. "Come on Sparrow! To the ship!"

she laughed at the screams of Davy Jones, and the shriek of Jack as he awkwardly galloped after her. Sense Jones lost his ship he rarely left his cozy makeshift home under the bridge. He wouldn't dare venture halfway across the beach to her ship.

Well, it wasn't her ship per say. It was a sunken ship that was pushed to shore that Will discovered. And now Jack has conveniently claimed.

When she finally arrived, she stashed the jewels in her secret compartment under the wheel. Jack collapsed at the gigantic hole of an opening, gasping and out of breath.

"What's wrong with him?" a small voice piped up, a foal quite similiar to Elizabeth pops out.

"He had a little to much to drink, something you will never do because you are never becoming a bloody pirate" she kissed the top of her son's head.

"But Mooom! You are Dad are so cooool!" he whined, stomping his tiny hooves down. He was very small foal, often teased but always protected by Uncle Jack.

"Yes, Dad and I are cool. You will be just as cool being a blacksmith, or a poet!" she huffed, moving across the creaky ship to help Jack to his feet.

"Oh let the poor boy be a Pirate, I can be his mentor!" Jack exclaimed, obviously proud of his {terrible} idea.

"No" she said sternly, nipping his shoulder in frustration.

"Two pirate parents, a pirate uncle, growing up in a pirate ship, and you don't want him to be a pirate?" Jack laughed, causing his whole body to shake and tumble to the ground again. Swann had given up on getting him to his feet this time.

"It's a pirate's lie for me mama" Junior piped, before scurrying off in fear of his mother's backlash.

"God he sounds to much like you!" she glared down at Jack who couldn't contain his joyous laughter.

Prank War

Madison, Sarafina
Word Count - 317

"It's time for the talk"

"I'm five years old"

"Your mother would have wanted me to do this for her"

"You don't need to"

"I have too"

"no, you really don't"

"shhh my child, just listen to me"

The two argued for about five minutes before Madison finally gave in. Sara continued to explain the birds and the bees to the five year old Madison, even though Sara was only two years older. She insisted it was what her mother would have wanted, and Mads insisted she didn't need to hear the talk, especially from one of her best friends.

"Oh lord, where's Brooklyn" Madison groaned, shaking out her mane and walking away from Sarafina.

"OH! I have to talk to Brooklyn and Destiny too" Sarafina chimed, smirking at Mads' disgust. This was too funny to her, a small prank to get back at them for last time. It was a few months ago, Sara was with Charlotte out by the mountains. Only to have the sounds of a cougar spook them to running half way up them. Only to come down after hearing their horrendous fury of laughter.

"I'm going to get you back so bad for this Sarafina just you wait~" Madison winked, nudging into Sarafina.

"I'd like to see you try. I'm the master prankster out of all of us obviously" she cackled, nudging her back a little rougher.

"Says the mare who ran from a cougar halfway up a mountain" Mads rammed her, causing her to stumble to the right.

"Says the mare who was raised by me!" she slammed her back, causing her to nearly fall.

"Says the mare who's, uh, a big dumby!" Madison full of tackled her, causing the two of them to fly over eachother and land veyr roughly into the dirt.

The two groaned, pulling each other to their feet laughing their heads off.

"Truce?"

Bane's Nightmare - Poem

Postby zippo. » Thu May 28, 2015 9:07 am

Image

Bane
Word Count - 102, Poem

she's coming, she's coming
the angel of death
who's eyes show love
and heart shows care

she's coming, she's coming
the nurse of life
who's hands hold needles
and heart holds pain

he's coming, he's coming
the man in black
who sees all evil
and always takes action

he's coming he's coming
the woman in white
who is all evil
and proves it too

they're coming, they're coming
the masses of broken
who sing the songs of sorrow
and rescue those who fall

they're comming, they're coming
the hoard of order
who kill the creativity of young
and burn those who cry

note:
this is supposed to signify Bane in a mental hospital, who's welcoming death, demons, and hell himself. It shows his hatred to the nurses and attendants who look after him as they are saving him. The side of darkness flows a lot better in his mind as that's the 'good', the light is jumbled and weak just as he views it.

JackieLantern's Nightmare - Poem

Jackielantern 'Party in the Pumpkin Patch'
Word count - 133

"Have you heard about the mare at Save Haven?
The Pumpkin one.
No not that one, his daughter"

Twisting and turning, falling and curling, the vines shallow her whole.
Growing and moving, swelling and sweetening, the pumpkins take over.
Her eyes emotionless, her smile gone
the world is no longer,
for the Pumpkin King's daughter.
Crying and screaming, gasping and laughing, the party slowly died
Clawing and biting, burning and hanging, the patch started to wilt
for days on end, they sang of her
the princess partier
who's wick burned faster than it should

"She was a real partier, but she got into a terrible accident
Is she okay now?
no, she's not"

note:
I'm making this a series of dark poetry about my tolter's nightmares or fears. This is supposed to repersent Jackie's fear of something random happening to her and killing her at one of her parties or during one of her pranks.

Family History - Safe Haven Wikipedia

Allister, Alyx, Leilani
Word count - 635

For generations to come, the first born child would receive a version of the family name. A long line of heroes, protectors, saviors, and messiahs.

Allister, a stallion born to lead those out of the darkness that so consumed them. Born from 'Messiah of the Ages' he was given the title of 'Protector of Mankind' due to his valiant acts of bravery for his herd. A dark period reigned over Safe Haven, known now as only 'The Dark Age'. Allister was born during this time, he grew up without knowing the beauty of sunlight. His father, Messiah, was the leader of the herd. But due to his old age, he had died before Allister was old enough to lead. The herd was taken by force, a ruthless stallion who knew nothing but power. He had thrived in the darkness, and wanted nothing but for it to continue. As Allister grew under his tyranny, he realized what he must do. The battle begun with Ali challenging the stallion's authority, he wanted nothing but a peaceful negotiation. Despite his wishes, the stallion attacked. It only ended with his death. To this day that is the only person Allister has hurt. Sense then he has vowed to be a pacifist, and to spread his peaceful ways to his children.

Alyx was a free spirit, similar to her father Allister in the way she protects those in need. 'Savior of the Broken' a label bestowed to her from her father, 'Protector of Mankind'. She did follow her father's wishes to be a pacifist, as she truly does not see the point in violence. However she does have a short temper, and tends to only come out at night to avoid the daily troublemakers. Some people just seem to make it hard to be non-violent. However, one night their was a fire at the stables. It was started by a storm, the wooden fences caught fire from a lightening strike. Most of the tolters had managed to break the padlocks and escaped, however Alyx knew from the cries that someone was still trapped. Her father told her to stay, that he'd go, but Alyx had raced into the growing flames. Near the back of the stables, a foal was trapped. She demanded to be left alone, that she wasn't worth to be saved. Alyx broke down the fence, and forced the foal out of her fit of sadness. To this day the two are very close friends, and Alyx bestowed the name 'Little Fighter' to her foal hood companion who overcame her depression. Evania will often times watch Alyx at night, just to make sure she is safe as well.

Now Leilani is the odd mare out. She was the second born, so her name isn't like the others. However, Allister wish to not exclude her, so he bestowed the name 'A gift from the Gods' to his beautiful daughter. He knew from the beginning she wasn't like the others, and he's had to keep a watchful eye on this poisonous beauty. Leilani, despite her good looks and sweet name, is a demon in disguise. She is not a pacifist, and uses her charm to her advantage. Her hands are clean, as she manipulates those around her into doing her dirty work. That night Alyx saved Evania from the fire, Leilani was no where to be seen. It was hurricane season, the storm winds were strong, the lightening rampant. The perfect cover up for Leilani's little arsonist to set the fire. Her goal was to eliminate Alyx, as to success her father as the leader. However it only favored her sister. Still, as an adult, she relies on her slick tongue to get her places. Her father is oblivious to her wrong doings, but Alyx is catching on.

The Gangs - Safe Haven Wikipedia

Postby zippo. » Sun May 31, 2015 9:27 am

ImageImage

Perekin, Evania, Jackie, Delsin, Rev
Word count - 1017!

When trouble strikes Safe Haven, it's not hard to figure out who exactly it is. Their is five candidates, apart of two per say gangs. The Troublesome Trio, and the Bad Bloods.

The Bad Bloods consist of Delsin and Rev. Two young stallions with the world in their hands. The two bestfriends are quite opposite. In the way Rev wishes to make the world a better place, and Delsin just accepts it the way it is.

Delsin is a delinquent in the purest sense. You can have a conversation with him without at least a hundred cynical comments. He sees himself as a 'lone wolf' but he's pretty protective of those who are out casts like him. His father Nolan was a beautiful stallion, shy and reserved. His mother Zillion, a chimeric to travel the world to see. Everyone seemed disappointed for such a plain foal. Because of the neglected feeling in his childhood, he grew up in and out of trouble. His favorite pass time would be graffiti, but he tends to stick to his own stall unless he accepts commissions from others. He's quite the artist, creating logos for them and the Troublesome trio. Despite being such a sarcastic artist, he has a love for fashion. Preferably, beanies! He has a collection of them hidden in his stall. His favorite being a simple dark red one.

If you had to sum up Rev in just a few words, it'd be 'down with the system'. Rev grew up seeing only the darkness in the world, the corrupt, the liars, the cheaters. He's devoted his life to destroying the stereotypes, to prove who and what the real evil is. He believes in equality of all genders and races, quite the philosopher. It's gotten to the point where he's been called a preacher, as all he does is spout his ideas to the other tolters. He's been under the wing of Allister, the current herd leader, and he's hoping to be the next. He often butts heads with Allister, as he sees the troublesome trio and Delsin has threats. To Rev, they are the future. Those who sit back and do nothing, that's the trouble. To very different views, to great leaders.

The Troublesome trio consists of three tolters, the prankster, the prince, and the pugilist, or better known as Jackie, Perekin, and Evania.

It seems fitting to start with the prince. Perekin, or 'Stone Cold Killer' as his quite fitting show name reads, thinks very highly of himself. It's his way or the high way in every sense. To meet his standards you must be a god, like him of course. He's extremely picky with his friendships, hints why he only has two close friends. Even they are a bit iffy. In his mind he is the leader of this trio, but in reality they are just a rag-tag group with no authority. However, he will still shout out demands and punishments as he pleases. He's not much of a ladies man, despite his two closet friends being mares. He'd much rather be alone, because he's the best and no one's better. His role is a little different, he's not the brains or the brute force, he's the drama queen. Every group has one, this is the troublesome trio's.

The Prankster, Jackielantern, comes from a long line of trouble. She takes most after her father Punkin', who takes his jokes quite seriously. Jackie on the other hand; sees it as a fun game. She wants nothing but to have some fun, to have a 'Party in the Pumpkin patch'. She's a spirit to have around, as nothing you could say would ruin her mood. Jackie's goal is to make people laugh, whether from her pranks, or just being funny in general. Most of the other tolters see her as annoying, and sometimes that gets hard on her. Perekin, Evania, and her father are always there to back her up.

Finally, the 'Little Fighter' Evania. She was born as a small foal, often bullied because of her size. Thus, she fell into a depression. When the stables mysteriously caught fire two years back she was saved by the leader's daughter, Alyx. Besides Jackie and Perekin, Alyx is her bestfriend, hell even a sister to her. Sense the day she was saved, Evania has become quite the fighter. She doesn't let what people say her hurt, or her friends anymore. She'll stick up to anyone or anything. She has a nasty temper, and she's incredibly skilled in fighting. She's the type of mare to start something out of nothing, and that's the way she likes it. Even though occasionally she blows it out of proportion and has to apologize, she knows when she's crossed the line. That, and the prince himself, Kin,will remind her.

Fun Facts

Perekin, aka 'Kin' according to Evania, was given a plastic golden crown and it's one of his prized possessions, along with any shiny things he may find. He's a king, but still a thief.

Jackie, once teamed up with her dad to pull a major prank on the herd's leader Allister. Let's just say when he went into his stall to find it striped completely clean, he was not happy. The dynamic duo was put on probation for almost a month. That's a long time to go without pranking.

Evania, not to long ago, got into a very heated fight with Mads. It resulted in the two having to be kept separate for almost three months as whenever they got near they'd tear each other to shreds. Eventually Evania apologized and now they're back to being close friends.

Rev, despite being the stick-it-to-the man type of guy, really respects the current leaders Allister and his daughter Alyx. He looks up to them, even. Maybe even a slight crush on Alyx.

Delsin, one teamed up with Jackie to graffiti the side of the stables. It was beautiful piece of art they had to clean up for the next two weeks. Once again, Allister, and the Stable Hands, were not happy.

Nolan and the Seaturtle

weekly challenge - your tolter and it's animal companion
word count - 1540!

Nolan sighed, looking at his reflection in the crystal waters beneath his hooves. The vastness of the ocean seemed to shallow him whole, a small insignificant wild stallion. He kicked a stone, watching it interrupt the perfect stillness of the water. He looked at his reflection shake, the curves of his brindle and the blue sadness of his pelt.

He took a step in, the water chilling him to his core. It's nearing winter, soon his home would be frozen over and once again he'd b alone. Another step forward, he thought of how all his friends have begun migrating to warmth. Another step, he's down to his knees, wishing he could migrate like them. He jumps in, letting himself sink into the darkness. His eyes shut open, the cold causing him to shiver. He bursts through the waves, gasping for air.

He could die on this journey, but he didn't care. He'd finally swim to the island that's been taunting him for weeks. He'd come to the waters edge, scared to venture on. He'd see the outline of dolphins against the sunset, slowly setting behind paradise island. The island he was trapped upon had nothing, and he was beginning to loose home.

Only the wreckage of the ship he was carried upon kept him company. He still has nightmares of that night, being locked in the box, been thrown around like a rag doll. The waves crashing onto the boat, the lightening his only source of light as he frighteningly tried to escape. Then it happened, they neared rocks and the boat split. Nolan felt the box quiver and start to move, crashing into the waves that nearly swallowed him whole.

The box broke, letting him escape into nothing but darkness. He could see people sinking, the ship's supply crates above him surfing the waves. His lungs burned, his legs sore from trying so hard to break the surface. With a final push the oxygen filled his lungs, every few seconds being pulled down again by the merciless storm. Then everything stopped, he suspected he had died.

However the warmth of day awoke up, stirring in the burning sands of the island. His vision was blurry, his body aching and screaming in pain. He stumbled to his feet, weak and malnourished. When his head stopped spinning he could see he was the only survivor, parts of the ship washed up next to him.

It's been two weeks sense the crash, he's weaker than he was than. He had finished the food he could find, the only water from the storms that kept him company. Everyday he'd sit and stare at the sea life that passed him by, watching the distant island as the wind howled through it's trees. But today was the day, he'd make it if it killed him. It would kill him if he didn't anyway.

He could feel his legs give out, but it was getting closer. He pushed against the waves, far from his island he was nearly there. The current picked up, pushing him forward. He had trouble keeping his head up, his nose filling with water every few seconds. He felt something hard against his neck, a shark possibly? here to end his suffering as a ruthless predator.

However it came into few, breaking the surface a large sea turtle looked up at him. It said nothing, but it stayed by him and kept his head afloat. His legs gave, now he relied on nothing but the current and the turtle. He let his tired eyes droop, knowing this could be the end or the beginning.

Once again he awoke on the burning sand, but this time on the island of his dreams. Just in front of him trees loomed, carrying large swollen coconuts. No longer was he tortured by silence, the tropical birds singing him to his feet.

"This island has people, humans. They have horses, they have food" the sea turtle spoke from under him causing him to jump in surprise. It laid halfway in the water and halfway on the bank of sand.

"You saved my life" he muttered, leaning his head down to look at it. "Thank you, how could I ever repay you?" he asked.

"spring time is around the corner. All I ask is you protect my young and escort them into the ocean, as I escorted you the land" the wise elderly turtle spoke.

"Your name?" he asked, agreeing to her payment. He would protect them with his life, sense his was in her hands. "Nolan, is mine"

"Abbysal" she begin to slowly slide back into the ocean. "The humans are north of here" she pointed her flipper north bound.

"Wait, don't go yet --" he cried out, not wanting to loose his only friend.

"I'm sorry child, but this is the ocean's farewell" she cooed before slipping into the waves and disappearing.

He felt tears well into his eyes, but he blinked them away. His body was in agonizing pain from lack of food, he'd spend the winter with the humans and come back once spring begins for the Abbysal's young. A guardian angel.

He slowly made his way north, following the outline of the beach almost afraid to venture into the dense shrubbery of the palm trees. He rounded a corner, the smell of smoke filling his nostrils. He could hear voices, but his vision was giving away. He let out a shrieking whinny before collapsing into the sand.

He heard the shouts of men, shuddering as their hands roamed his body in attempt to move him. Hopefully, they'd take care of him.

For the third time he awoke, but not in the sand. He was in a small stall, fresh hay by his side along with a bucket of water. He lifted his head, desperately eating what he could. It tasted like sweet heaven. He heard a laugh, and looked up to see a few other horses around him.

"Where did you come from?" one asked.

"A shipwreck" he squeaked, his voice cracking. It was strange to hear himself talk after a week of silence. "I was the only survivor, on a neighboring island. I swam here" he explained the best he could before moving to chug the water down.

"You must be strong, a week on and island alone and swimming all the way here?' another exclaimed in shock.

"I am nothing, a simple stallion" he got to his feet, stretching out his sore back.

"You are everything to these men, and to us. You must be a prize" the first one stepped forward.

He smiled softly, looking over the three other horses than looking to the men.

"The miracle is awake!" a man walked up to the stall, patting his neck. "You okay, buddy?" he said softly as to not scare him.

He whinnied, nudging his head into the man's neck. Contact with others felt amazing, and it was all thanks to a sea turtle.

"What is your name?" one of the horses stepped closer, one who had remained silent.

"The ocean's farewell" he said softly. "Nolan, if you like" he spoke a bit louder so they could here.

"Alright boy, we're gonna cut your hair sense you can barely see. Then we'll contact base to see what to do with ya, alright?" the man spoke again, leading him out of the stall.

Nolan stood calmly as they took scissors to his hair, trimming it shorter, a more natural length, He shook the shreds of his black hair off his body, admiring the view of the humans and the beach. They seemed like soldiers, sitting together in uniforms drinking. Possibly workers of some sort.

Another man approached, older and burlier. "Boss says once we get home, he'll be taken by some stables nearby. They take rescues like 'em" the two nodded, and the man went back to his hair.

"I'll miss you, you're strong. You'd be a great one to keep around" he spoke mostly to himself. "It's hard work though, you deserve a break. I know the stables, you'll be sent back to the mainland sometime next winter" he tried explaining to the horse.

Nolan whinnied in joy, happy to regain strength here with the others. Nothing made him happier though, to knowing he'd see Abbysal's young one more time.

{{ timeskip to spring }}

Nolan sneaked from the stall, past the men. He had bulked up, now a prize stallion worthy of some big bucks. He traveled back, knowing exactly where he washed up on shore that day.

Sure enough, he saw the small hole in which an egg was already poking out. He uncovered with his muzzle, seeing the eggs move and shake as they begin to break out of the shells. Probably ten to twenty of them, all from his savior Abbysal. He made sure to scare off any birds that came near, to stomp on any lizards who ventured from the depths of the jungle.

He watched as each one scurried into the waves, disappearing out of sight. His debt had been paid, and now the next big journey was to his new Save Haven.

Tantalizing Trinity - 282

Postby zippo. » Mon Jul 27, 2015 2:27 pm

Wayward Stables cool kids, some of the oldest tolters who have formed their own niche together. Promise, Kiske, and Fitz. Of course the ring leader is Promise, the cold mare with a heart of flowers. She has the two boys under her hooves, at her beck and call. Fitz loves to see the cynical mare smile and laugh, so he always does as she asks. Promise being a very frilly girl, loves to request for him to bring her flowers or a win her a ribbon in his latest show. Of course he always obliges to his Queen.

On the other hand Kiske and Promise have a interesting relationship to say the least. He's sarcastic, always poking fun at her. He's incredibly eccentric, always finding the weirdest things to bring her and twisting her words to the way he wants it. She asks for a flower? he brings her a poisonous one just to hear her screech. He's like the terrible older brother she never wanted, and she the annoying little sister he always did. When he's not playing with Promise, he lazes around and wastes hours upon days of his own time.

This is wear Fitz and Kiske come in together. Kiske loves to sleep and drink, wasting time with meaningless tasks. Fitz is the opposite, he has to constantly be doing something to be entertained. He can never just relax like Kiske wants him too. Fitz would sit by his side and ramble on about what they could be doing instead of sleeping. After at least two hours of this Kiske gives in and does whatever Fitz wanted him too. He's the little brother he definitely didn't want.
