Iɴᴊᴜʀᴇᴅ
The sky was a light blue, not a cloud in sight. A slight breeze disturbed the leaves above my head, causing one to spin lazily down in front of me. A group of bees buzzed nearby, searching for bright flowers to pollinate. The sun's warmth was not too hot, and the birds in the tree above sang a melody of pure happiness. The bark of the tree behind me was rough and uneven, and I ran my hand along it. What a perfect day to start off summer...I though, closing my eyes to listen to the world around me. Why can't every day be like this?
I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't hear her walk up. "Hello?" She asked quietly, startling me. I opened my eyes and glanced up. The girl that stood in front of me was about seven or eight, with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing a white sundress."Oh, hi!" I answered. "Are you lost, little girl?" The girl looked at me like I was crazy. "Me? Lost?" She laughed, a sweet tinkling sound, like the sound of sleigh bells. "My name is Alice!" The girl said, and held out her hand. I stood up, and slowly shook her hand. "Oh, well I'm Emma." I told her. Alice grinned. "Do you want to go on an adventure, Emma? I know a great place to explore!" I told Alice that I'd love to go, considering I had nothing else to do. "Well then, follow me!" Alice exclaimed, and began to lead me through the field we were in.
After about half an hour of walking, Alice and I eventually reached a small river. "Here we are!" Alice said happily. "But... don't tell Mom I brought you here, or she'll be mad at me..." I promised Alice I wouldn't tell her mother that we were here, and the two of us began to play by the riverside. We dared each other to cross a fallen tree that stretched across the river, chased after frogs, and tried to catch the tiny fish that inhabited the river. They say that time flies when you're having fun, but I felt like that day, it was an understatement. It felt like time was flying in the world's fastest airplane.
Soon, the afternoon sun began to dip down close to the horizon, and the air began to cool. "Alice, I think it's time we started heading home," I called to Alice. But she was busy crossing the tree bridge. Her face wore an expression of concentration, her arms were out to her side, and she was slowly placing one foot in front of the other. "But Emma, can't we at least cross the tree bridge a couple more times? Or chase another frog?" Alice whined, looking over at me. While she wasn't paying attention, her feet slipped off the tree, and she fell into the river, screaming. Luckily, the tree bridge hovered only about a foot above the water, and the river was only about two feet deep in that area. But I ran over to Alice, my shoes slipping on the wet pebbles as I ran into the water. "Alice! Are you ok?" I asked frantically, pulling Alice from the water and onto the shore. She was soaking wet and shivering, and it was getting darker by the second. "M-my arm h-hurts..." Alice muttered, shivering uncontrollably. I looked at her arm, and sure enough, there was a large cut on it. Oh, great...I though. Luckily, it was not bleeding much, and the cut was shallow. I tore the sleeve off of my shirt - it was old anyway - and wrapped it around Alice's cut. It covered most of it, and just to be safe, I ripped off my other sleeve and wrapped it around the part that wasn't covered. "Come on, Alice, we have to get you home. It's going to be dark soon, and you need to get that arm bandaged properly," I said, standing up and pulling Alice to her feet. "Emma, my arm really hurts," She said, "Can you carry me?" It's your arm that's hurt, not your legs! The mean, unkind part of my brain thought. Well, she's just a little kid...I thought, and bent down to pick Alice up.
The walk was dreadful. It had been getting darker with every step, and Alice had seemed to be getting heavier with each passing moment. But, somehow, I made it to Alice's house. She had helped to lead me there, and once we reached it, her mother came running out. "Oh, there you are, Alice! I've told you before not to go running off like that!" She had snapped, but then noticed her daughter was hurt. Alice was brought inside, dried off, and properly bandaged. Alice's mother offered to let me stay the night there, but I knew my mom was probably wondering where I was. I left and walked quickly back home. Mom wasn't as scared as I thought she would be, but I guess that's actually good. My hand's getting kinda tired after writing about today's adventures. I hope tomorrow won't be as crazy! ~Emma

Any comments: At first, it was kinda hard to think about what was going to happen, and somehow, this came out. I guess I'm proud of it, and can't wait to start tomorrow's challenge!
Note to self: Try to have a better transition to climax
