{ ＩＮＫＬＩＮＧＳ v.4 } A Thread For Writers

Hello everyone! I'm SunnyJustice, a new member glad to finally find a thread like this. I started writing when I was nine years old and continued throughout my elementary and high school years. Now as a university student, I still write, although I have stopped doing NaNoWriMo because of time constraints in the November month.
I'm currently working on a story aimed for YA audiences. The placeholder title for now is "The Light of Delra" and it's a hopepunk/fantasy genre with odd superpowers, found family, and resistance through hope. It puts a spin on the typical rebellion story by resolving conflicts through compassion, not more violence. I want to touch on topics such as environmentalism, diversity and equality in an age-appropriate and positive manner.


Describe the plot of the story you're currently working on as terribly as you can:
Clichéd pair of enemies-to-friends save the world with the power of friendship.

What are the greatest fears of your main characters?
Optional: Are they forced, by the plot, to face their fears?
One of Kwet's greatest fears is losing his friend Aveth, whether it be Aveth dying or leaving or his respect/friendship.
He has to face Aveth dying several times and then losing him when Aveth's family comes into the story and end up disapproving of the many things Kwet did during the war.
Spindrift fears dying alone, not actual death but facing it on his own. I don't know if he's going to face that yet
Tovoth fears becoming too close to someone. Their species can literally go into shock and shut down and die basically if a loved one dies because of how relient they can become for emotional support on others. He ends up facing this when he accidentally becomes friends with Veem and later is ordered to kill Veem for supposed disloyalty

There's a variety of ideas that I play around with but one I'm planning on emphasizing is nonfamillial platonic relationships. Baiscally friendships.
It just seems like in so much media and so much just everyday life is so hyperfocused on romatic relationships. I just wanted to write a story where its baisically the opposite and see where it takes me

It’s told in three perspectives and so far i’ve published two chapters. ^^ also, did NaNoWriMo already start?? People have been quiet about it..?

I'm glad you're getting into writing again! I felt the same way, I was in a dry spot for a bit myself! Sometimes the cruel things must take place.

hey guys! so i finally have the urge to start writing fiction again after writing so many articles for class x.x

anyway I have a scene where a guy chases a girl and he starts singing to her to gain her attention. it has a few verses but what would be a good way to incorporate him singing the lyrics while describing what he's doing, what the girl is doing and what other people around them are doing? i hope this question makes sense? XD

Hello everyone! I haven't been on in like a year, but I thought I'd answer the questions I missed anyway, because... well, why not? Welcome to the new people! What has everyone been working on? Has the crazy world affected your creative/writing processes at all? How is everyone?
Without further ado:

Two characters go for a walk to answer a question

What are the greatest fears of your main characters?

Myyy character is an adopted child trying to find her birth parents, so really everything about the entire situation is full of messy feelings and fear C: *basks in the angst*

Does your story have underlying themes or morals? What are they?
Optional: Why did you choose them?
It's (supposed to be) infused with themes of trust and friendship, and it's kind of supposed to be about relationships between people? I didn't pick them on purpose, that's kind of just what ended up happening xD

so, I had an experience tonight while writing.
I don't usually find myself getting super attached to what's happening in the story - because I know that's what happens, you know, so it doesn't strike me like it would if I were reading it --
but I got overwhelmed with pity for a character while writing something & I'm just happy to have felt that way. I'm really connected to this project and that's a big deal - because I've been working on it for a solid seven years now.
Has anyone else had this happen?

(You've probably already written it, but I'd like to answer anyway.) If I had been online earlier, I would have suggested alternating lines of lyrics with lines/paragraphs of action, and weaving them together in a pattern, if that makes sense. What did you end up doing?
