hello fellow writers! i'm thinking about doing a writing contest/challenge of sorts to get people back into writing here on the forums. what do you guys think?

I'm doing pretty well so far. Granted its only day 2 but I wrote over 3,000 words yesterday and a bit more today so I'm ahead of the game a lil bit. I've missed writing so much.

I’m continuing on my vampire novel I’ve been festering over for about a year now. I have a real good plot, but not sure how to get it moving along. I’m also struggling with character building for one of my characters, so I’m going to concentrate on him in the next chapter I write. Gosh I love writing

I decided to completely revamp and rewrite a story I had been working on, and I have written 16,096 words so far! I’m proud of myself for even doing this much, What with being a mom and having a full time job (: it’s been hard to find time to work on writing, but I’m powering through! If you keep at the rate you’re going, you’re for sure going to kick that word count in the butt!

The AbsoluteWrite forum is fantastic in my experience - lots of insights to be found. And it doesn't suffer from the problem a lot of other communities do, where beginners fill up the community with the same few questions over and over again, because there's a "basic writing questions" subforum they can use. (Plus, you know, a search function.)

Anyway!!! I know a lot of you don't follow the lazy writers thread, so I thought I'd go ahead and advertise my writing competition over here too. Ends on Jan 7, though I might extend it if there are very few entries. First prize is 50C$.
