Which do you prefer and why: writing on paper or a computer?
I really prefer computer. I'm a very quick typist so it's easy for me to churn out quite a few pages. Not only that, but I tend to keep everything more organized on a computer, as I can't doodle in the margins or make notes. If I want to have notes, I have to either keep a pen and paper nearby, or I have to type them up, which ensures they don't get lost in the chaos that is my written work. I suppose the reason I write poetry on paper is because they tend to have more emotion, so I prefer they have more of my touch and flair that comes with handwriting them.
Jeez, that was long. For anyone who actually read that, thanks, that was very kind of you!
@Issabelle the Reaper
I only have a couple comments to make. Thus far, I'm enjoying the story, it's not taking too long to get into more 'action' type scenes or get to know and really understand the characters. Personally, I tend to like a little bit more description of setting just so the reader can get a general layout as to where thing are, but I understand that's also exponentially more difficult when writing a more action-based story. The other thing I'd like to point out in particular is when you're talking about the cave and all its properties, you start to use 'you' and address the reader directly, which signals a change in viewpoint from third person to second person. To keep everything consistent, you could take out the 'you' and write it in terms of the townspeople (why they go there, what properties they believe the caverns have, etc.) . Other than that, keep up the great work, it's been a wonderful story thus far!
@My work
So...I now have a working title for my story. I've decided it'll be called "No Rest for the Wicked or Moral" for now, just because I can't think of anything else. If I finish, I'll probably change it, but I wanted to have something to call it.
I've also got a thread for it right here. I'm including author's notes with each chapter, just because I think it's an interesting way to get into my mind a bit and see why I wrote the way I did. Feel free to comment there and PM me critiques, and hopefully I'll have a third chapter up today once I've done some character/location sketch stuff.
