hi there!
i've signed up for nanowrimo this year and i was wondering if anyone here has done it before and has tips?
i literally just came up with an idea for a novel an hour ago and i'm really feeling it, although i need to flesh it out. it's set in a universe where war broke out across the world and we resorted to fighting with armies of advanced robots. the story takes place about half a century after the war ended. it goes like this:Years after the Great Machinery Wars, planet Earth has resumed peace. Most of the leftover debris has faded to dust, and nature flourishes through all the land. Florence [Florah? Florida? I haven't decided yet] is a young teenage girl who loves to read and write. Stuck in a small town where she doesn't belong, she yearns for the adventure she finds in the pages of fantasy books. As a lonely, curious girl, Flo studies ordinary objects and robotics, learning how things work. One day, when venturing in the woods nearby, she finds a robotesque soldier, still completely intact. With her knowledge of technology, she brings the part-machine, part-man soldier alive, and so her real-life adventure begins.
The story goes on to explain how Flo gives her robot friend a name [Ebony] and takes him around town as her only friend. However, with her dreamy, author-like mind, she begins to devise a plotline for the two of them, and becomes increasingly determined to take the soldier across a border into what used to be an old battleground. She claims this is his home, but in reality Flo just wants some purpose and excitement to her life. The book is essentially about how Flo's need for zest and a "story-book life" endangers both Ebony and herself, as well as her final decision on what to do with the robot she abused for her own whimsical wants.
the title is almost certainly going to be Ebb and Flo. what do you guys think of it so far? i'm not sure if i can get 50,000 words out of it for nano though ;;
Megaguirus gets distracted by a butterfly. So pretty.

I haven't been here in forever it feels like ;.; sorry about that!
School started and honestly I haven't had much time at all to do anything other than homework and things like that. Writing does take up a lot of time, and I can't just write little bits at once because I get way too easily distracted and write tons, or can't write at all. XD
