@everyone- Thanks so much for all the feedback! I really like the idea of a twist, especially ones with the dog. I think instead of the dog being an actual evil creature, I might have it possessed by a creature or something else that wants Sam stuck in FAE for some nefarious reason.

I did some more thinking about Kit and Natalyia He and Natalyia met when he was in his early teens, and she kept visiting him as he grew up (he's around 17). Natalyia eventually discovers that Kit comes from an abusive home and one day brings him to FAE to 'cheer him up.' While they're there, she tricks him into eating a faerie apple or something so he can't leave and can't be hurt anymore. He's upset with her at first, but eventually forgives her.

Years later, he stumbles across Sam, who's lost in FAE and able to leave. He's immediately reminded of himself before he met Natalyia and wants to help her get back to her world. Natalyia is unsure about Sam, because she can sense a malicious air around her (hint hint the possessed dog) and doesn't trust her around Kit (who she's really protective of). They're on a pretty strict time limit to get Sam home because Sam only has like two granola bars and a half-full bottle of water and Kit only has a packet of nuts and a few old water bottles from when he first came to FAE. Natalyia begins to suspect the dog and Kit believes her, but isn't willing to act on anything without proof.

Sorry about that, I needed somewhere to spit out ideas c:

I'm best at and enjoy writing fantasy most - mostly medieval fantasy.

It's easier for me to write because there's less confinements and I'm pretty much free to develop the world however I like. Plus magic and dragons are really cool.

      @Arche
      Your idea of Sam and the possessed dog wonderful! I just read through everything you've got and what people commented, and just, wow! I lately am not a big fantasy person, but I am over here dying to read it!

I seem to be really drawn to more animal stories than anything (Redwall and the like) fantasy things, it just leave me so much freedom.

I usually write fiction, more specifically animal fiction, realistic fiction, and science fiction. I don't believe I've ever tried writing anything else.

@Arche:

I like the first idea as well, but I would suggest changing the name of the place, as the Leven Thumps books are about a land called Foo, and that would likely be too similar in terms of copyright and stuff. Other than that, I love the idea c:

What's Na-something something (I can't remember what it was called, xD) What's the contest about?

    I see that a lot of you enjoy writing fantasy. I must say that I am the opposite. I used to write animal stories when I was a child, and I actually had my own little animal world that I went to whenever I picked up a book.

    Have any of you tried to write a story based off of your own lives? Or at least a part of it? You can make a story more interesting if you add a twist of something you heard on the news or maybe a small piece of information you found on the internet. All of that might be old news to you otherwise.

    I focus on poetry more than anything. I might have a few old poems I can share with you, but finding them might be somewhat of a challenge.

    I apologize if this is hard to understand; I am typing on my phone, so autocorrect may have butchered it.

Not as much as events or material things in my life. But I find that a lot of my characters represent my emotions or desires or views in the way of life.

      NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. Basically it's a challenge that you write 50,000 words in the month of November. If you go on their site and follow along, you can win prizes and such if you complete the 50,000 words.

    I have wrote a few stories based on my life. Though they are usually based on teenage romance, since I'm a teen. But I slowly lost interest since nothing interesting ever happens, so I focused more on fantasy where I find that I can write as many interesting things as I want XD

Normally I can be inspired by what I see around me - one story that I have vaguely thought about was inspired by a dream I had, even though the elements from that dream that inspired me won't actually be in the story! (no plot as of yet - it's kinda like a future about if we didn't have technology anymore, only mechanical things and basic electricity.)

Also Ill be joining the creative writing society at uni this year - my housemate is the social sec and they are a lot more relaxed with...everything, unlike our dance society - which is all about getting plastered and punishments! (I am alcohol intolerant.)
