Alright. Carrying on. Warning: Something big's gonna happen! You'll have to wait and see if it's good - or bad. DUN DUN DUUUNN. Woah I'm so cool. 'Eheh, no you're not. You're just some Greystripe craze. You have a crush on a fictional character - and he's a cat.' Well, maybe that's true, but I can't help my feelings. FEELINGSS.... Okay let's not.

After purring and sharing tongues with Willowstream, tiredness suddenly hit me between the eyes. I noticed Willowstream looked tired too, so I murmured to her, "Goodnight, my love."
Soon enough, I fell asleep.

I woke to a familiar scent. I couldn't put my paw on what it was, but something told me it was bad. I remembered with a jolt - "Fire!" I yowled. "Get out everyone! Fire!" Once I was sure all the queens were up, wide-eyed with fear, I ran to the elders den, the apprentices and at last the warriors. "Everyone! Follow me! Help the queens carry the kits! Apprentices, stay close to your mentors!" I yowled. I knew that NightClan weren't likely to help us, so I headed south towards EarthClan. Once we were safe (enough), I checked everyone was there. I almost set off again when I heard a yowl come from my mate. "Where's Mintkit?!" I rushed up to Honeytail.
"Go to EarthClan, explain everything. I'm going for Mintkit," I said. When she was about to object, I interrupted. "She's my kit! I'm the leader, and this isn't just one of the Clan's, she's mine!"
I knew I wasn't making any sense whatsoever, so before she could speak, I ran into the blazing fire.

"Mintkit?" I called. I poked my head into the nursery to see a tiny figure hunched in the corner. "Mintkit!"
I grabbed her by the scruff, and headed out of the big den, and stood on a burning stick. I dropped Mintkit accidently - fortunately, she missed the stick - as I howled in pain. At that moment I realised I had inhaled smoke, and my chest was burning. I felt everything going dark, despite the almost blinding light. Just before I collapsed, I saw Honeytail and a bunch of our warriors, stepping out bravely for their Clanmates.

I woke with a gasp, and I saw Rosefur rush up to me and give me a small herb - a Juniper berry, by the looks of it. My chest felt tight as I tried to breath. I scarcely heard her instruct me to eat he berry. I sat up slowly and licked it up. My chest got looser, although I was still in agony, from my lungs and throat. "How did you know we needed help?" I rasped.
"Hush," meowed Willowstream, emerging from the crowd. "We were about to set off for EarthClan when I heard you yowling. Honeytail gathered the strongest warriors, and we set off for you. She carried Mintkit - don't worry, she's safe - and the rest got you. Oh, Duststar, you can do this, you're fine. Please, StarClan, please..."
Her quiet prayer was barely audible, but I did hear it. "Then where...?"
"Thrushstar said she saw the fire from EarthClan. She said there was no way she wasn't going to help us, so she let us in her camp - temporarily, at least," as if Honeytail's words had summoned her up, Earthstar came bounding down the small slope with her deputy, Robinwing, and medicine cat, Badgerstripe.
"Duststar," Thrushstar mewed, with a respectful dip of her head. "I heard the crackle of flames from all the way over here. Nobody likes NightClan but NightClan, so I knew you'd come here. I woke these two" - she mewed pointing her tail at Robingwing and Badgerstripe - "and they agreed to help. Your breathing seems pretty bad there. Are you ok?"
"Fine," I panted, although I knew that wasn't the truth at all. I couldn't show weakness to another Clan! "Just out of breath... I guess.."

TBC :D

And yes, NightClan is basically ShadowClan.

What should the fourth Clan be? ShadeClan? ShardClan? Suggestions? xD

This part was inspired by my health. I have a chest infection. :/
Also by Thunder Rising, were Gray Wing's basically the same. So ayyeee. I'll be writing more tonight I think. I don't have anything better to do xD

Okay, I thought to myself. I'll have to rely on Honeytail a lot for the next moon or so, I feel so ill. It pained me to think of that, but it was true. But my Clanmates needed a leader... and they're all so brave and loyal...
I snapped myself out of those thoughts. I couldn't just sit down all day, thinking about my problems. I had to make a move. I had to do something. At least all of my Clanmates are alive I reminded myself. I shivered at the thought of losing one of them. Every single one of them was my world, and I'd be lost without them. Just like they'd be lost if they didn't have a leader. No matter how hard I tried, the negative thought kept coming back to me. I thought I was going to go mad until Dovefoot, Darkfoot and Featherwing came padding up to me. I flicked my ears up in surprise - I wasn't particularly close with these three. "Duststar," Darkfoot greeted. "I know we don't talk too much, neither do I with these two, but I thought we should try to get closer - so we can be happy... Er... Sorry Duststar. Nevermind. This wasn't that great of an idea."
"No, no, I like it," I said, getting ready to sit up.
"We don't want to make it harder for you," said Featherwing, rolling onto her back with her belly exposed. Dovefoot did the same, and Darkfoot copied.
"Thank you, you three," I croaked. "You're right, we should get along with each other equally."
All four of us smiled, and by sunhigh, we knew every single detail about one another.

AWW WHAT A HAPPY ENDING

This is a quarter moon after, lol. xD

"Thank you, Thrushstar, MoonClan is in your debt," I mewed, bowing my head in deepest respect. "I can't think what would have happened if it wasn't for you. Many of our cats would be dead, starving, lost..."
"No problem, Duststar. As I said before, I could never let anyone die - from the oldest elder to the youngest kit, no matter what Clan they were from. I'm glad we could help if anything," the pretty brown she-cat said. "I'm sure you'd be glad to get back to your territory."
"I guess I do," I rasped. If I was honest, I was desperate to leave. It felt as thought ants were crawling through my pelt, although the burn on my paw was painful. With our last goodbyes, we set off to our territory.

"I want to go out with some apprentices," I meowed to all of the warriors. Fortunately the camp wasn't too badly damaged, it was easy enough to rebuild it all. "We can get some sticks, bracken, whatever you need to rebuild everything. I'll take out Shrewpaw, Snowpaw and Sootpaw first."
"Sure," mewed Rainstrike. "But take it easy. I'm no medicine cat, but your chest infection won't get any better if you're climbing trees, swimming or whatever you're doing."
"Okay, I will," I sighed.

"So, let me see your hunting positions," I croaked to the apprentices. "You've been apprentices for a while now, so I'd think you know."
All three of them did it perfectly, to my surprise. "Great!" I laughed. "That's that then!"
"Look over there," Snowpaw whispered. He was eyeing a shrew, and I gave him a nod of approval. "Well done for spotting that, Snowpaw. I hope you don't mind me trying to get it? I'm still stiff from the fire..."
Sootpaw and Shrewpaw looked shocked - of course they did, thinking their leader couldn't catch a shrew! But Snowpaw nodded, mischief glimmering in his brilliant eyes. "Okay then, Duststar. You might need a lesson from us, after all!" He joked.
I let out a purr of satusfaction, and didn't miss a cuff over the ear from Sootpaw. "That's not how you talk to your leader!"
"It's okay," I laughed. "He's right anyway. You would hear my breathing from a mile away!"
I crept forward, almost ready to pounce, when it felt as if my lungs had crushed. My legs gave way beneath me, and I collapsed on my side. I gasped for breath, but whatever I did, nothing was happening. I felt my eyes were barely managing not to roll to the back of my head, when three small figures surrounded me. "Duststar!" Shrewpaw shrieked. "Sootpaw, get help!" Her sister nodded and raced out of sight.
"I can't... breath..." I croaked out. Snowpaw and Shrewpaw's faces got darker and darker, until I saw nothing but blackness.

*Snowpaw's view*
"I can't... breath..."
"Duststar!" Shrewpaw had started to panic beside me. I had to stay calm for her sake. "He's not... dead... is he?"
"No, of course not," I snapped. "Even if he was, he still has another 8 lives." I started licking his fur - he's so big! Almost triple my size! I got taken out of the thoughts when I heard pawsteps coming from behind. I turned around to see a patrol coming for Duststar. They hadn't seen us. "Over here!" I yowled as loud as my lungs would allow me. Greyfang flicked his ears up, his eyes wide with worry for his leader.

I opened my eyes to see multiple eyes looking down at me, each looking worried. I blinked and their faces turned to relief to know I was fine. I haven't lost a life yet I thought, But it can't be long... otherwise I'd live forever.
"Duststar!" exclaimed Featherwing. "You're safe now, we're going to help you into camp. Your breathing failed... again... but thank StarClan we have such fast apprentices!"
I nodded in acknowledgement. My chest was still painful. I felt as if I couldn't move, but I forced myself up with the help of Icenose and Petalfoot. I grunted my thanks, but even that took an effort. Great StarClan! I thought to myself. I have to be strong for my Clan!
What seemed like moons of leaning on Greyfang and Darkfoot, we arrived at camp. They continued to help me up into my den, where I flopped down onto my side. My paws and chest were still burning, but as Greyfang left, I noticed Darkfoot look up in surprise. I was guessing he saw Featherwing and Dovefoot, because a moment later they both came in, and muzzled Darkfoot in greeting. "Duststar," Dovefoot mewed. "May we come in?"
"Yes," I whispered. They padded in quietly and set beside me. None of us said anything, we didn't need to. We shared tongues until we fell asleep. I was risen by Honeytail yowling, "MoonClan, NightClan are attacking!"

Chapter 10 - Unexpected Ambush

I immediately leaped to my paws, but collapsed straight after. "No, Duststar!" Featherwing cried. "You can't fight - not today! You've been unconscious half of the day, you know that!"
"I must fight!" I attempted to raise my voice - which did not go my way. I broke into a fit of coughing, and Darkfoot yelled, "Get Rosefur!"
"She's already at the fighting scene - get Moontail!" Featherwing yowled to Dovefoot. Without another word he raced off. My lungs felt like they were getting smaller and smaller, and Featherwing raced over to me. "Can't... Can't breath..."
"Hold on, Duststar! Moontail's coming now!" she begged me.
"...you young cats always getting yourselves into trouble," I heard Moontail complaining as she stepped in, but she stopped as she saw the sight of me. "Great StarClan..."

★★★

"Foxleap!" I yowled. I saw my old mentor sitting before me. "I... I feel fine. Am I... But I still had eight lives..."
"Of course you do, mouse-brain. You've just lost one, that's all," she meowed. I froze. I looked into the stream sitting beside me. In it was my reflection - mine, Dovefoot's, Darkfoot's, Featherwing's and Moontail's... "Send me back down, now!" I demmanded.
"Patience. You're losing your life of patience."
I sighed. I looked down at my body, as hopeless as a newborn kit.
"Go now," she mewed. "You're breathing will be no better, but you won't lose any more lives for now." Her image began to fade, and I felt the same pain in my chest as I once had before.

★★★

Re: MoonClan-

I woke up again. I ignored my Clanmates - my Warriors... my friends asking me if I was alright. "I need... to fight!" I stammered.
"Oh, no you don't," Moontail chuckled. "You just lost a life."
"How do you know that?" I asked, suddenly forgetting there was a battle.
"A medicine cat knows these things - even a retired one." All of a sudden, three big, bulky toms came up to the entrance of my den.
"Back off!" Featherwing yowled. She hurtled herself at one of them, who fell back in a daze, giving Featherwing an advantage. Dovefoot reared up and smacked the smallest one to the edge of my den. I rose with Moontail and Darkfoot beside me. I was the first to charge, surprisingly. I heard a few gasps but I ignored them. It felt better to fight than sit down all day, thinking about my health. I raked my claws over the last tom's forehead, and he ripped my ear back. Agony seared through me but I couldn't howl, I knew that by now. I sank my teeth into his shoulder, and that was enough to send him running.
I knew what my Clanmates were going to say, so I interrupted them and mewed, "I'm fine. I need to keep fit or I'll get worse."
But to my surprise that wasn't what they were going to say. As I turned around, I saw a limp body of grey and white - Featherwing! "Featherwing!"
She rose her head. "I''m fine, I just hurt my hind leg." Moontail rushed over.
"I'll get same cobwebs and marigold. You'll be fine, the cut wasn't deep; just long."

Almost as quick as the battle had started, I heard a yowl - "NightClan - Retreat!"
I scrambled over to the great rock. There was no point in summoning everyone - they were already there. I spotted Honeytail stting at the edge of the Clan - scratched but satisfied. I signalled her up with my tail. She was wide-eyed when she saw me having cuts all down my shoulder, but I shook my head when she brought it up. "If my voice fails again, I want you to tell everyone what I was about to say," I mewed rapidly.
"I won't say no, because I might have to do this, but please explain to me what you ARE going to say," she replied stubbornly. So as quickly as I could, I said what the meeting was about.

"Clanmates," I began. My voice shook a little, but I forced it stronger for the restof the sentence at least. "NightClan attacked when we least expected it. I couldn't help you much, I'm so sorry, but me, Featherwing, Dovefoot, Darkfoot and Moontail chased off three warriors.
"Is anyone badly hurt?" I thought suddenly. There was a silence, so I was about to carry on when I heard a small moan. I looked down and saw Ashtail hunched in the corner. I bounded down toward him.
"Rosefur!" I yowled - but it came out more of a whisper. I said to the closest cat - Icenose, "Get Rosefur or Moontail."
"Ashtail?" I asked gently. "Are you okay?" He looked up at me with big amber eyes.
"My... my paw," he stammered. I looked at it - covered in a pool of blood.
"Honeytail, take over!" I called as loudly as I could over my shoulder. I went back to Ashtail. I started licking his wound - the taste of blood was putrid, but I kept going. Then I heard pawsteps coming quick behind me. I saw Icenose, Rosefur and Moontail pushing their way through the crowd.

"He'll live, but his paw won't heal properly..." said Rosefur. "He might need to retire to the elders' den."
"That's fine by me," Ashtail muttered. "Me and Greyfang were thinking about retiring anyway."
"I'm sorry, Ashtail," I murmured, meaning it. "You were a worthy warrior."
"No, thank you, Duststar. You're a great leader. And you're young. You're going to lead this Clan well."

Chapter 11 - The Hostile Gathering

"Over the past moon," Duststar began at the gathering, "we've had some events happening...
"We had a forest fire, but we are all safe, and are not weakened by the damage. EarthClan sheltered us for a quarter moon, and we are in your debt." He said with a dip of his head.
"But almost as soon as we got back, we got attacked by NightClan," he was trying not to lose his temper at the thought, although he was bristling. "Two of our Warriors had to retire, due to the battle that took place for... which reason, Nightstar?" he challenged.

"Duststar," Nightstar spat. "We have been scenting MoonClan scent in our territory. It's obvious your warriors are trespassing."
"No, Nightstar," Duststar bristled. "The only scents you would have caught from us would be the borders and when the fire happened. You attacked us for no real reason, but you did it anyway. Injuring both your Clanmates and mine!"
