Excitement bubbled up inside of her. Leaping on the top of the fence the sleek silver cat hopped down on the other side and headed into the trees. Long shadows were cast by the fading sunlight, and fallen leaves were lit by the afternoon light. With a happy burst of energy she ran until she reached a quiet clearing. Catching her breath she found a spot to sit down.
Her happiness faltered as the sun began to sink lower and lower, and finally it fled behind the horizon. She was about to run home when she heard pawsteps coming her way. Her heart leapt and she held her head high. A russet colored tom slid from the undergrowth, his eyes lighting up when he saw the she cat. "I was beginning to think that you weren't coming." the she cat admitted sheepishly. The tom only laughed in response. He sat down beside the silvery she cat, placing his head on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry Storm, I couldn't leave any sooner than this." he said, lifting his head.
"I understand. You just worried me Red." Storm purred. The two had been meeting ever since they had ran into each other in the forest a long time ago. The two cats were now illuminated by moonlight, the stars shining brightly in the sky. They talked, and played in the clearing until it grew even later. Storm said her goodbyes to Red, but only for the day. It would happen that the two cats would fall in love, and have three wonderful kits." Storm said, looking at her three kits happily. They stared wide eyed in wonder. "Now go to sleep young ones," she coaxed her little ones off to bed. When they were sound asleep the she cat slipped out of the house, going to see the one she loved.
So sorry that this is so short. I haven't really been writing stories too much recently, but I hope you like it.
