@AJ Right now :)
Dear Diary,
Another rehearsal yesterday afternoon. It was a little better I guess. Louisa was late, so I chatted with some of the ensemble girls while we were waiting. Abrielle and Jadyn are both seniors. I've seen them around the halls, but I've never really talked to them. They're really nice, though. Pablo is also in ensemble, but he's a sophomore. It was a nice feeling, because for a few minutes, talking to them, it felt like I really belonged in the music wing. Of course, then Robert strolled in and all their attention turned to him. He's nice, but he's kind of...loud? He just really likes to be the center of attention.
Louisa came in the middle of our warm ups. She snuck in and sat in the empty seat next to me. Unfortunately, Mrs. King happened to be looking in our direction and saw her. "Louisa! Where do you belong?"
She flushed a little. "Over there." She jerked her head in the direction of the other sopranos.
"Then please, go over there!"
My only friend in this place slunk away to sit with them. I sighed, so quietly no one could hear it. When Once rehearsal let out, Abrielle (who was sitting next to me) turned to me.
"Mrs. King is a bit angry, don't'cha think?" she said quietly.
"Maybe she's just a bit stressed." I said. I don't even know why I was sticking up for this teacher I didn't even like that much.
"She's always a bit stressed." Jadyn joined in, rolling her eyes.
I privately agreed. Mrs. King seemed especially on edge with the coming musical and teaching.
I looked over to where Louisa was. Even though she was allowed to sit with me during the break, she was still talking with Sherri. Traitor. Eric was also deep in his own conversation with Robert. Seriously, why do my friends have to be so popular? I know you're wondering why I couldn't just go over there and join them, but I don't want to force my company on them. I don't think Sherri likes me that much- by no fault of my own, I swear. Okay, it may involve a secret hate note I wrote, but she was stealing my best friend. And it was in middle school. You can't judge a girl based on her middle school actions.
My mom's usually a bit late to pick me up, so I didn't rush to get outside. After the room had cleared out a bit, I waved goodbye to Louisa and Eric (who had to stay after even longer) and went outside to wait in the grass by the parking lot. I waited. And waited. Eventually, it was just me and Robert standing there.
He turned to me. "You're Pidge, right? Louisa's friend?" Oh, I will never live that down- I will always be known as 'Louisa's friend.'
"Yeah." I replied. He looked around the empty parking lot.
"Are you getting picked up?" He looked slightly uncertain.
"Oh yeah, I think my mom's just running a little late."
"Oh, just making sure. I didn't want to leave anyone here alone." I must have looked confused, because he said "It's happened before. Louisa was forgotten by her mom one night last year and didn't get picked up until almost eight!" She doesn't have a cell phone, the poor girl.
"Really?" She never told me about that. Funny, I thought we told each other everything.
"Yeah. I think her brother was sick or something. So, this is your first musical right? What do you think of it?"
I smiled. "It's been great!" A little white lie never hurt anyone. "I mean, except for the fact every single song is stuck in my head, probably forever."
He laughed- a deep sort of chuckle. Not something I'd expect from his wiry frame. "I still have everything from the Music Man stuck in my head, and that was last year!"
That poor kid. Well, besides the fact he can actually sing and almost always gets the lead roles. A red convertible pulled into the parking lot.
"Well, there's my ride." he said. "Are you sure you don't need one?"
"Yeah. My mom will remember me eventually."
"Okay. See ya!"
I smiled. "Bye." He climbed in and as I watched the car speed off, I began to wonder when my mom would show up. I was so sure she would be here by now. The door to the school banged open and I turned around, startled. It was just Eric. It's been a whole half an hour already? Well, I'd better be starting on my homework. And yes, I'm at home. I'll explain later.

((Oh gosh, that turned out longer than expected. Sorry for the big wall of text. Also, sorry for the delay- I did get like 1/2 done last Wednesday but I sort of forgot to finish until now))
