Okay, just to get this straight: NO POSTING! However, I am a big fan of feedback (not hate :p) so feel free to pm me your thoughts about the story! Any hate mail will be ignored and deleted instantly.

(note: I almost never finish a story I write, so... be prepared.)

Since I'm cheap, I'm going to give you a little background on the main character (like a roleplay thing xD) I find it makes it easier to imagine... ^_~

~Hope~
Gender: female c:
Age: 16
Orientation: Straight
History: Hope was 8 years old when her parents and her wanted to go on a cruise. She had lived in England and wanted to take a vacation to America. The ship unfortunately flooded and sunk. Hope's parents were killed in the accident, but she stayed alive. She was shoved onto a lifeboat in time, but from the fall into the boat she badly broke her shin. She was stranded with two members of the crew. She nearly starved to death and became very sick. They eventually washed up on the American shores, nearly dead. They had to amputate her leg from the knee down, so she was stuck in a wheelchair. She stayed in the hospital for the rest of her life, still recovering from the disease as the people at the hospital tried to find her a family to adopt her. She suffers from PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).
Looks: Hope has long, frizzy ginger hair and freckles. She has one green eye and one brown eye. She stays in a wheelchair when she is not in her hospital bed. She has been offered prosthetic legs many times but turns them down every time.

Another main character is James. James is just your average high school hot shot; dirty blonde hair; brown eyes; tan; 16; straight; the popular boy at school; star quarterback at their high school; yada yada yada, etc etc etc. There's really no special history behind this dude.

Oh, and by the way, this is set in modern day in a small town on the shore of Rhode Island. The town is called Beachwood, the high school is Beachwood High School, blah blah blah. Let's get to the story now.

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

I woke from my deep sleep, feeling drowsy and sluggish. I had probably had a nightmare and woke up screaming, so they probably gave me an anesthetic to make me fall asleep. I had no way of knowing. I took my iPad Mini I'd gotten for Christmas off the bedside table and opened a puzzle game. As I waited for a nurse to come in and bring me my food, I played the challenging game of connecting the dots in a way so that the board was filled and they lines didn't intersect. Since I wasn't having my tutor come in today to keep me caught up with the kids my age, even though I knew I would probably never find a home by the time I was old enough to live on my own, it was good to keep my mind busy.
After a few stages, my favorite nurse Rhonda strode into the room carrying a tray of my food and a huge grin on her face. "Great news, Hope," she said, placing the tray of fruits, pancakes, orange juice and my medication on my lap as I sat up in my hospital bed, "you're not going to believe this! Oh, it's so exciting!"
"What is it, Rhonda? Just tell me already!" I said, placing the pill on my tongue and washing it down with orange juice.
"We found you a family!"
I looked up at Rhonda, my eyes wide with disbelief. I was shocked. I struggled to breathe but just started coughing. Her smile faded as she realized what was going on; I was choking on my pill. She pressed the button on the side of my bed to call another nurse into the room and handed me my glass of orange juice. I grabbed it and started to chug it down, hoping to wash the lodged pill out of my throat. As it slowly slid down my throat, I coughed more to clear my throat and looked down in my lap to avoid the embarrassment. When I finally stopped coughing and my cheeks were no longer beet red, I looked up to see two more nurses, three in total, holding my hands and asking me if I was alright. I could barely hear them. I was 10 million miles away.
When they'd decided I was alright, the nurses left the room. I sat in my bed, looking out the doorway. When I finally came to my senses, I called for Rhonda. I had to know more about this family, if I was going to stay with them.
